I have my two hour pre op class next Wednesday the 27th. It's so surreal isn't it??

Well I'm all approved!!! All that's left is my pre op class on the 27th then pre op testing. Surgery on January 13!!

I got a call from my nurse today and she said I passed my psych evaluation and that she's sending my paper work to the hospital people who will approve my surgery. Since I have hospital insurance I'm already approved but they look over my case too make sure I'm a good match for the full gastric surgery. They also look at have I done everything the doctor asked and I have plus some! She said she's going to call me tomorrow after she meets with them. I can't believe how close I am. I never thought I would ever be here! Thanks for everyone's support!!

Are you pre op or post op? I was wondering if anyone still has a sweet tooth after surgery. Everyone I talk to says that they can't tolerate sweet stuff any more.

I hope so!! I would like someone to have the same date as me. That way we can compare stories. Lol

Don't mind her something is extremely wrong with her. It's ok to post how you feel even if you cuss every now and then. It's sad you need our support and she just wanted to chastise you. I hope everything works out and you get the support you need! Us real supporters will be here if you need us!

Really?? You are not here to support people you are only here to criticize people. I don't know why the moderators are even letting you stay on here. And your talking high school clique and fingers but all you do is point your finger at others. I think the only one who needs to grow up is YOU. Get a damn life! Yeah I said damn. Now point you wrinkled up finger at me. As much as you type on here I think you are the one who needs to take a hike and burn some of your mean calories!!

Don't worry everything will be ok. He is just upset. I'm sure he really didn't mean it. You should try to talk to him about it. Tell him how he made you feel. And it's not your fault that you were fat. food is an addiction just like any other addiction. The surgery is something to help your addiction. Once you have this surgery everything should normalize some. Maybe then you can get back to your normal life. You can always come here for support!! That's what I do I don't have much support around me. This and my Facebook page is where I get most of my support.

I think we are all grown here. She's really feeling bad and if she felt the need to say a cuss word then she is entitled to that. You didn't have to comment on it. Don't try to down her more by lecturing her she's obviously going through some things. Not trying to blow this up.. So no need to comment back..

Right now I weigh about 440ish. I start at 484. The first surgeon wanted me to weigh under 450 before he would preform the surgery on me. This new surgeon asked me to loose 20 more pounds just to make sure he doesn't have to open me all the way up. He said it's a 50/50 chance now at my current weight that he could start out doing laparoscopically and have to switch to open because he can see or move around like he wants to. If I loose the 20 pounds the risk goes down to only a 5% chance he would have to open me up. I start my pre op diet on December 30 and its only going to be about 750 Calories so I'm sure I will loose quite a bit then too.

Thanks everyone!! I'm still on cloud nine! I truly wasn't expecting it so when he said lets get you a date I almost busted out in tears!! Now I just have to stay on track and loose at least 20 more pounds. He said that there is a 50/50 chance that at my current weight he might have to switch to open surgery in the middle of it. He doesn't want that to happen so he said if I lost 20 more pounds then my chances go down to only 5% chance. So I'm going to loose it I don't want to have to have an open wound for 3to 4 months. Plus the hospital stay would go from 3 days to 7 days. Recovery is six long weeks. So whatever the struggle is I am going to do it for my health!! I'm so ready to live again. I'm already making plans for my first vacation!

Hello everyone!! I just got my date its January 13th!! I hope someone has theirs around that time. I don't want to be the only one..lol

I am sick and tired of all the negativity that is floating around here. We are here for support and I feel that if you don't have anything nice to say then you should keep our mouth shut. We are all adults here and I understand that this is a public forum but there should be a mutual understanding for others feelings. This goes for everybody. I'm not going to call anyone out by name because I feel that has already been done. It's time to move forward. When I first came to this site in August there was so much love and understanding from people. I wanted to be included in this family. But things have went sour! Lets get that support and love back to the people who need it. I am still pre op and I am sure I will be needing a lot more advice and support. So this is it! This is the truce! IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL!! It's a shame I have to use a saying my mother taught me at age 5. Now lets get the love and support back going!

Thanks you guys!! I'm nervous about meeting this new surgeon on Thursday. It's like I'm starting all over again. I wish my surgeon never got sick. I would have already had the surgery. Our at least have a date.
