  2. Hi,I live in Dubai and use to have 2 popcicles every night until end of July when this country ran out of all sf popcicles,I mean zero,non,nada...not a one all summer.And it is hot out here. I miss them like crazy as this was my treat every day. Enjoy the abundance of sf product you get in the US.It seems that for some reason they are importing less and less sf and low fat products and our choices are now so limited. O,we do have the sf Jello but for some reason this gives me heartburn.I make it and mostly just look at my family eating it...lol xxo
  3. Hi Step back and breathe.Now get back to where you are suppose to be with your post op diet.Eat smaller portions,not too often,track your food and do not overeat. If you have heartburn stay away from acidic foods,fruit and drinks that has citric acid or any other preservative in them. Eat slowly and away from the family for now.They might mean well but it isnt helping.Make your own food. Just start again.And small portions to not overeat while being very selective with your food is extremely important. Then,let us know how you are doing in a few days. xxo

    Pictures Tomorrow

    today I will take some pictures for the first time post op.Its been 5 and a half months now that I've still been avoiding the pics. My kid took some the morning of surgery (and some the morning after). I might even post them if I can see a difference.Being very body dismorphic doesnt make life easy.I have to see myself with my mind and not really my eyes as my eyes still see me almost exactly the same,but with a lot more wrinkles and drooping skin.My head tells me 88 pounds is a significant weight loss. S,lets see how brave I can be!

    Stall,again!

    ok so I have hit the mother of all stalls.And all the doubt and all the anxiety has returned. Am I eating to much?Am I eating to little?What should I eat?What am I doing wrong.I must be doing something wrong. I know,with the rational part of my brain,that I have TOM and the 2 pounds that I am up is normal for this time of the month.My housekeeper reminds me every morning when I storm down the stairs in a bad fat mood that this is the way its been since surgery and that I look thinner to her.She is so sweet.And such a LIAR..lol! It has been quite a while since the scale has moved and I dont know how to survive these stalls.My mood still depends way to much on the number on the ruddy scale.I must say I dont weigh near as much as before just because I just dont have any expectations anymore,which is not a good thing! I am just so scared every time I hit a stall that it will nwvwr end and this is as good as its going to get for me. But nothing I do changes this so I guess I will just have to sit it out.(this is punishment for always thinking that peolple who said they stalled were cheating with their food..lol)

    Stall,again!

    Hi t_rob I know right?These are all things that my "sane brain" knows.But there is this 33 year long "diet failure" in me that accuses me all the time when the scale doesnt move!I really try to not weigh as much anymore but am deathly afraid that I will get on that scale after a week and be up 5 pounds.Crazy right? I was an always on diet or binging person all of my adult life.Getting use to the new normal is quite hard for me. But I will try to step up the exercise.And add some fibre to my diet.and not weigh every day,just for this week to see what happens. Have a great weekend!

    Just now had a look at my blog entries and I seem like a lucatic with the ups and downs...happy,sad,happy,sad!I wish I could just stay away from the scale...it is just not my friend (and the mirror,and the fridge..hehehe)

    The Way We Lose

    I read a lot of posts and I see that we all have the same issues at some time or another. Of course,every time I lose even one pound I am positive and when I dont I doubt. Today is a positive day.hehehe I am 217 today and I am happy! In this blog I process externally (I dont really know how to be an internal processor..lol) The ups and downs of this journey is very real and when I have down time I read about my up times and then I can breathe again and wait....the weight losses come when they do.I eat right and wait. Yesterday I started doing leg exercises...a little.And I can feel it.Today,I will do upper body and lower body.Cardio will have to wait until I am cold free again. xxo

    The Way We Lose

    Hi Randi, That is exactly how I lose.I stall for 10 days to 2 weeks and then drop 8-10 pounds fast,sometimes even a little more....then,stuck for 2 weeks again,it drives me nuts though.I would much rather just lose .2 every day.Something,anything I could see on the scale.But what can you do,it is what it is.xxo

    Pain!

    I thonk as we get lighter this should improve drasctically.I dont limp anymore and have very little pain now.Only when Ive played squash for way to long and way harder than my obese body can handle do I suffer grearly for a day or 2. Hope things gets better for you fast. Ps.I loooooove my bed.

    Pain!

    For 4 years I had constant pain in my hip and upper leg.Since buying my tempur bed and 3 months post op,no more pain!I sleep so much better and well,no pain. Every time I exercise my "bones" ache so badly that I just want to quit.Execised again today and now the sides and front of my lower leg has this deep ache.I hate drinkng pain killers but for a while at least I suppose I will have to take 2 panadols to help me with the sleeping at night.Since I have started sleeping better for the first time in years,I am not prepaired to give it up,no way! But exercise I will.No more cop outs and excuses!None!

Hi I suggest you dont weigh yourself for at least 10 days.I was up 10 pounds 2 days after the sleeve and it drove me insane and made me so depressed.And for me it didnt start coming off until day 10.after that I dropped another,if I remeber correctly,25 pounds the first month. Dont torture yourself.Just focus on sipping,resting and healing (I also watched cooking programs 24/7 for the first 10 days...lol) Good luck and keep sipping. xxo

    Help On Weight Loss

    Hi I have lost 88 pounds since 13 March 2012 but I dont by any stretch of the imagination think it is to fast.In fact it feels like it has slowed down to a snails trail and I find it very frustrating. I still have 40 pounds to lose.So for me it wasnt too fast. How much do you still have to lose?

    Hi I was sleeved 13 March and have lost 88 pounds but now Im stuck.Still doing everything Im suppose to and exercizing more,I suppose not enough yet.truely hope the weight starts moving down again. xxo

    Vision Problems

    Hi I posted about this in some forum about 5 months ago and people were kind of making out as if this was age related and had nothing to do with the surgery. My eye sight have deteriorated a lot.I also noticed it the first time about 3 weeks post op.After posting about it I thougt it was my imagination.However,I cannot read any labels on anything anymore.I find this super frustrating as I dont want to wear glases. That is also why I am on my ipad most of the time...can make it much bigger if I need to...lol xxo

    I Am So Happy!

    since I've last posted my weight of 211 on the 16th,I thought I had not lost any weight at all.In fact a week ago my weight jumped up 4 pounds after I had some caramel popcorn (not a whole lot either) and a frozen yogurt. At the time my stress levels was at an all time high and we had to make some very very difficult life altering decisions.I really wished I could just eat and eat like before but HATED the weight that came back. After last weekend I decided to do the right things again but still didnt think I had lost any weight this week. Well,when I converted my weight from kilos to pounds I was super pleased to see I am down another 2 pounds.Yes, 209 today!!!!!! I am hoping for the weight loss to pick up a little again as I am really exercising hard now.I am also eating very clean foods again. One thing that bugs me though.Since my sugar fender bender I am experiencing what I believe is hunger.It feels physical to me.Might be head hunger though.Will have to explore this a little further but I am worried about this.I also feel at times that I want to eat more.When I eat only proteins I eat 3oz and do feel full but not satisfied. Anyhow,I am on my way with the weight loss again as I have already booked our next holiday and I NEED to be at least 30 pounds lighter by then...I will work my butt off for this! Will meet up with my Dubai sleeve buddies some time.They are all doing very very well. So,next entry might only be when I've dropped the next 5 pounds....but that is going to be soon and I am going to drop this fast...hehehe!

    The Sleeve And Stress

    So we are ahving quite a bit of stress in our lives at the moment and my sleeve hates it! I have constant pain on my stomach (radiates to my back) and the stomach is rummbling like it did directly post surgery! There is nothing else going on as far as I can tell.the sleeve is just super tight and very sensitive! Dont really know what to do about this!

    Hi, I dont think stretched yet,but it might if you keep up with the fizzy drinks. Sometimes I think it is because we feel so much better that we start becoming complacent and indifferent to what we eat.On the other hand life is back to normal and we get use to the sleeve. You know what the problem is.Those nature valley bars taste great but lots of sugar.one has 190 calories in them (ok,the 2 in the wrapper)I know,I have looked at them plenty of times already..lol Just sit down,decide what is important.Just because we can eat more doesnt mean we have to. Get carrot sticks,cucumber sticks...you will not be able to eat to much of those,it fills up very quickly.Cut some of the snacking, have an extra cup of tea. Just make a few good choices again and your weight will start moving again. NO FIZZY DRINKS! Good luck and look at how far you have come.You can finish this!
  22. 212 pounds.Started the exercise thing a while ago and the weight just stalled.It almost made me stop again.However the jellyfish thing doesnt do it for me any longer so now I exercise...lol Whenever I drink a multivitamin I am thinking of food all day and extremely peckish!I hate that feeling so now I have gotten kiddie chewies and eat 2 in the morining,2 in the afternoon and 2 much later.That way the appetite is not affected so badly! This is not so easy.I am starting to understand more and more that certain factors will make us want more food.And I am not talking about head hunger.This feeling when I drink the vitamins are physical not doubt about that. The question is how to deal with that.I believe that snacking on carrot sticks and cucumber (blegh!) and frozen mixed veg (yummie,it is green giant mix of green peas,green beans,carrots and sweet corn...low in cals great taste when frozen!) will be ok eventually. Doing plastics,according to my dr,will reduce the amount of fat cells I have and will also help with the rate at which I will pick up weight in the future.He atill maintains if I did the plastics 7 years ago after losing 120 pounds,I would not have regained so much weight again. I cannot wait to be under 200.I stopped right at 200 (ok,was 198 for about 15 seconds) when I had the band, My friend is exercizing with a personal trainer.He said he would give us a "family package" and come to our house to train my daughter,my friend and me.I am thinking that kind of spoils the fun...should be at the gym! Will start trying kick boxing or body combat again in a while.Most important is to start pilates reformer again.Best toning one can ever,ever do! Ok, enjoy your food everyone!

    You know,under eating the sleeve is anyway better.You should just follow your guidelines and you are doing great. Having said that,if you get bored with your foods change it.Eat great tasting,great quality small portions...very satisfying foods only! xxo

    Stalls Around 4-5 Months

    Hi I lose about 6-8 pounds fast and then I "adjust" (lol) for about 10 days.Then I lose fast again and thats been my pattern.Dont do long stalls. How much weight have you lost?You had your surgery about 2 weeks after me.

    Help.. I Feel Terrible

    Another way to see this is as an adjustment period after a big loss...( here is the reason to be EXCITED about an adjustment..) its followed by another big loss. Having said that,I still freak out if it lasts too long!It just puts doubt in my mind. I've lost really fast for my age and genentics by eating real solid Proteins.Hardly ever needed a shake since I could eat. You will look at your friend,that's what we do even if we know we shouldnt.So,if you say she eats lots,how what does she eat that you dont and what does lots mean? 40 pounds in 2 months seems great to me.Will go and see where I was at 2 months out but it seems like a heck of a lot more than what some people lose. xxo
