Today is July 13, 2013. About 13 years ago I lost over 40 lbs and felt so wonderful and so healthy. I was doing Weight Watchers and it really was working. I never have been terribly overweight but just enough for me to feel self conscious. When I was younger I was always slim. Then, life got in the way, my son got into trouble and I lost focus of watching what I ate. Then I lost my job due to a plant closing and when I started my new job is was completely a sit down job and I continued to not pay attention to what I was eating. As time went on my personal relationship with my adult son went south and I lost my grandchildren for about 6 months and in that time I just stopped caring altogether. Started eating McDonalds every day for breakfast, then added heavy sweet coffee's, then started drinking bourbon and the weight just kept coming on. For a year now I have been struggling to lose it and get back down to wear I was 13 years ago but nothing I do makes a difference. I know longer drink bourbon, I eat somewhat better and walk daily but now I am 58, had a full hysterectomy and well the rest of the story is now I am heavy. My back hurts from the weight, I get out of breath, I am uncomfortable most of the time and very self conscious. Now that I am headed for a serious and dramatic approach to losing weight, my hopes are high and I envision myself fitting back into my favorite jeans that fortunately for me, I kept. Will add to this story as time goes on.
