    Food Logs Discussion

I have hit my first stall! I will be 10 weeks post-op on Monday. I have lost 55lbs so far. According to MFP I am doing everything right, I know stalling is normal but DAMN! I am so frustrated. So much so that today I have completely given up on logging. I have nibbled and tasted everything that came across my path including dipping my finger in homemade chocolate frosting. It was amazing! I've only lost .5 lb this week, I pray it doesn't last.

Would it be ok if I message you?
  7. I saw my nut at 8 weeks and she said I can try anything (except rice, soft bread and steak) just introduce one new thing at a tube.
  8. So, I've got a weird question. It seems that my pouch doesn't handle things the same in the morning as it does in the late afternoon/evening. For example, if I drink milk in the morning, it doesn't sit right. My tummy gurgles and feels heavy if I drink it later in the day it's fine. Its not just milk. Does this happen to anyone else?

    Food Logs Discussion

I also am obsessive about my food log. My husband was actually joking ( I hope) about me being addicted to my food log. Everything that goes in my mouth gets logged. It has been instrumental in keeping me honest and on track.

    INSOMNIA!

One of my doc's put me on Ambien last week, it worked great from 11-4:30. Every morning at 4:30, I pop awake. Friday he switched me to Ambien CR, exact same problem. The extended release does not seem to be helping. This surgery has been challenging enough without the sleep issues.

    Change in Toleration!

I am almost 6 weeks, surgery on 7/1/13, I am feeling the same way. Everything makes me nauseous but I haven't actually thrown up or dumped. Things I've been eating for weeks are making me feel awful, even water isn't sitting in my pouch right. I have no idea why or what to do. I am thinking about going back to just soups for a few days and see what happens. I am 45 lbs down, so that's a big plus.

  16. Can anyone share with me how they found out they had a stricture, what kind if testing the surgeon did, how quickly they fixed it and how they fixed it. Is it another hospital stay? I know that's a lot of questions but I am pretty sure I have one and my surgeon situation is complicated. Surgery was 7/1 and everything has been going perfect until yesterday. Now I can't even get down fluids.

    Stricture

Just got back from the hospital, they went ahead and scoped me. No stricture, turns out its an ulcer in my new stomach. I think this is worse, two more medications to add to my daily routine. They said they don't know what caused it but it should heal up.
  18. I was wondering if anyone has been experiencing any Hibernation Syndrome symptoms? I am 4 weeks post op tomorrow and I am exhausted. Eating is going great, weight loss has been amazing and no pain BUT I am so tired all the time. I am consuming between 500-800 calories a day, getting all my fluids and protein. Oh and all my vitamins too.
  19. I went to my husbands squadron picnic yesterday and thought I was going to die from all the cupcakes staring back at me. It is all in my head I know but damn I just wanted one little bite. I made it through the day by repeating the number 30 in my head over and over again. 30 is the number of pounds I am down 19 days post-op.
  20. How about having people look you in the eye! Nobody looks you in the eye when you're the fat girl.
  21. I am 2 weeks post op tomorrow and I think I am doing great. I started the purée diet last week and found it too yucky for words so I have been just chewing everything until its mush. I am being very careful to stick to the list of foods I am allowed just skipping the blender. So far, so good. I feel great and am losing between .5 and 1lb a day. My husband and I went out on a date Friday night and ended the evening with a 2 oz cup of sugar free frozen yogurt! It was delicious! The only issue I am having is muscle soreness at one of my incision sights.
  22. I am doing very well. I feel great and am super excited to start each day. However, come 7:00 every night I am beyond exhausted and very sore. How long does the stomach muscle soreness last? I am 10 days post op. I am also taking calcium supplements in the powder form and I am really struggling to get the required amount down everyday. What is everyone else taking for calcium?
  23. I have my first post op on Friday. I get to move to purée food then. I can't wait! The only real issue I have had is a problem with soy. I had found 2 different protein shakes that I liked before surgery, once I got home one of them caused the dreaded, dumping syndrome. The only difference between the two shakes is soy vs whey. I am too scared to try again right now, maybe in a few weeks.
