1. Do they dissolve, fall out, stay there, or what? HW(9/3/13)- 284, DOS(9/11/13)-270, CW-259(9/20/13), GW-155(by 9/21/14...my 26th birthday!)

What's supposed to happen to the exterior stitches?

I have stitches and the glue. Just had my one wk post op appointment and now I've noticed two stitches coming out about half an inch. Of course the surgeon's office isn't open again till Monday HW(9/3/13)- 284, DOS(9/11/13)-270, CW-259(9/20/13), GW-155(by 9/21/14...my 26th birthday!)

Dang I feel like my surgery has failed already because I never feel full(I don't get hungry either though). I keep my water bottle on me and sip all day and easily get around 80 oz/day without ever getting a full feeling. 5. I'm 6 days post op. Have no problem getting all my Water down, but still getting just 30-40 grams of Protein. How about everyone else? HW(9/3/13)- 284,
DOS(9/11/13)-269,
CW-265(9/15/13),
GW-155(by 9/21/14...my 26th birthday!)

I was told to hold it for as long as possible(seems like the nurse mentioned to aim for 15 seconds), but that the actual number doesn't matter too much. What matters is that you're doing it. It's not the higher number that reduces your risk, but how often you do it. That being said, I've noticed a gradual improvement in the number since surgery. I started around 500 and am up to 1000 now that I'm 5 days out. Just continue to do it because it really helps. Surgery was yesterday! Liquids question

I'm hanging in there other than that. I go home tomorrow. I think I will definitely need meds on bedtime for a while, but other than that, the pain isn't too bad HW(9/3/13)- 284, DOS(9/11/13)-269

How is everyone else doing that had surgery today? This has been the strangest surgery I've ever had. I was in a lot of pain when I first woke up, but they finally got it under control. For me, it wasn't painful at the incision site, but where they did the cutting inside. It's now about 12 hrs later and I gotta say that this is the least painful surgery I've had. Definitely not as bad as gallbladder or csections. Just wanted to share. Good luck everyone! HW(9/3/13)- 284, DOS(9/11/13)-269

I'm in pre op! Got my iv, antibiotics, heparin shot, and nausea med. Now I'm just waiting on the surgery. It got pushed back to 10am est, so I got about 75 minutes. And the countdown begins!
  13. My pre-op diet is an all liquid diet that lasts 7 days. We have to get in at least 64 oz of water and can have unlimited sugar free jello and sugar free popsicles. But they limit our protein to 20 grams a day! So one diet drink and a cup of chicken broth each day and that's it! I am on day 2 and having headaches and dizziness. Also a complete bitch lol. I'm amazed that they haven't had anyone pass out during this. Anyone else on a crazy pre-op diet? And how are you doing with it?

Pre-op diet seems very extreme. Anyone else?

Thanks!!! I'm here just waiting and looking hideous waiting on my surgery that got moved back to 10am. Gotta love the hairnet lol

I'm not doing a bowel cleanse either. My surgeon said if you stick to your pre-op diet, that's enough of a cleanse.
