    pain go away :(

Sending best wishes and prayers your way. Pain needs to go away right now!
  3. Yes, I have never heard of that either. I do know that when that happens, they put some sort of band around the area to make the stomach smaller. I think, I'm not sure because how can they reattach something that's already there, when you think about it. Do you think that your stomach has stretched to allow you to eat more, if I may ask? Or do you think that it is just poor choices. My boss had gastric bypass about 6 years ago and is heavier now than when he had it. He certainly needs a revision! LOL. He eats 2 slices of pizza at a time, a bagel with sausage, egg and cheese as well as wraps, etc.. Don't know how he gets it all down. Maybe I'm missing something. LOL.
  4. You are hysterical! I am with you on that. I have had 2 failed surgeries in which I am getting complications and the thought of gastric bypass scares me to death. I have always been an entertainer, cooking up a storm for people. Now I feel that my life will be compromised and I cannot do the things that give me the most pleasure. I can't live with this pain either from the complications. Everyday is a struggle and I feel like I am being forced to do this. Best wishes to you though and please keep us posted on how you are feeling. I think that our relationship with food can be handled a bit better over time, maybe we actually might be afraid of gaining weight. Who knows? It hasn't happened to me yet! LOL.
  5. Hello, how are you? I have had a VBG which was attempted to be revised but now I have complications, and the doctor is saying that the only way they could combat this is through gastric bypass which I am deathly aftraid of. I have heard of people getting their bypass revised but don't know anybody personally. It's done like nothing today. Best wishes to you always.
  6. I beg to differ, only because of how he interacted with me. At first, he seemed to be very nice and knowledgable. He even sent me for tests after my visit with him. After I completed the test that he ordered for me, he would not even make a follow up appointment with me because I am a revision or speak to me whatsoever. He made his assistant call me and tell me that he does not want to see me. Next, he sent all of my records to me back in the mail. I feel that he treated me poorly and turned out to be a big disappointment, especially not even having the decency to talk to me by phone. Also, I found his staff very strange also. While making my appointment and following up with him, 3 people, including his secretary quit and are no longer there. Big red flag for me. I'm over it now but it was really not nice what he did. It's a shame because I really had such high regard for him as a doctor.
  7. That is more than wonderful, that is super duper amazing and you should be so proud of yourself as we all are proud of you!!!!!!! Best wishes to you always...
  8. Best wishes to you. What an accomplishment! Did you have any complications with the surgery and/or with eating afterwards?

No weight loss in a week!

It is my pleasure. Wow, 29 pounds in a month! Unbelievable. Now when you go to the supermarket that is equivalent to 3 1/2 gallons of milk. Good for you.....

    New and bewildered

Sending blessings to you for a speedy recovery. It's a terrible shame. Sometimes we hit a rough spot and better days are to come....

No weight loss in a week!

You are giving her the best of everything that you could! You give her the same love and attention and everything that she needs whether you are 140 lbs or 1,400 lbs. You have made a decision to lose weight for yourself and to set an example that when something doesn't work well, we fix it! Start looking at how far you have come, which is an accomplishment, rather than how much more you have to go through. Time is going to pass regardless and you are doing the very best that you can in this situation and will continue to do better and better.

No weight loss in a week!

Oh you will. I always remember a saying that says "If you would have stayed the same, you would be (how ever many pounds) heavier." I thought to myself that it makes sense! I also read that for every 8.5 lbs of weight is equivalent to a gallon of milk. So when you are in the supermarket, try carrying two gallons around with you and after a while, you will get tired. That's what you lost. Good for you....

No weight loss in a week!

Think of the accomplishment that you have made. 17 lbs in 2 weeks! I couldn't lose 17 lbs in a month. It's probably your body trying to adjust to the new, slimmer you....
  14. How wonderful do you look!!!!!! You are a true inspiration to us all. Enjoy your new life....

    3months out and 95lbs down!

OMG, you look wonderful.... Best wishes to you. A complete transformation. You must be so proud of yourself and rightly so.

    ALMOST 3 MONTHS OUT

So sorry to hear of your troubles, especially acid reflux as I was under the assumption that the Gastric Bypass usually cures that. On the flip side, you lost 71 pounds and should be admired for that, as it is so hard to lose in the first place. Best wishes to you always.... Stephen
  17. And thank you so much for your kind words and support
  18. My apologies, I didn't read it completely. Best wishes to you on your weight loss...
  19. I am so glad to have someone from New York City (actually I live in the Bronx) to talk to and not feel so alone in this journey of a lifetime! Literally. I think that I am going to start attending the support groups beforehand so that I can see other people's approach and words of wisdom to get me through it. Thank you so much.

    Puree dinner

You are doing wonderful. You should be so proud of yourself! I dread the day that I have to do that.

    Chinese Food

Good for you! Hope that you are doing well with your surgery. It's amazing that you are able to eat 2 weeks post op and lots of luck with that. I have to wait a while for my revision surgery and I am petrified of having it. I just do not want to give up sugar in my coffee (because I am allergic to the artificial sweetners) and the eating and drinking. Hopefully, your acid reflux is now non existent from what I hear about this surgery! Best wishes to you always. Stephen
  22. I have already had surgery before in that area and now they have to convert it to a gastric bypass because of the complications that I received. I have a stricture as well as many years of scar tissue that makes it virtually impossible and quite painful for things to go down. My anxiety is out of control and I just feel hopeless. I still am able to eat sugar (not in great amounts) as well as eat and drink to push food down. I don't want to give that up and I think that this surgery would make it worse.
  23. Hello to you. I am in New York City and have to go for RNY, not only to lose weight but because I have a medical condition that requires it. I am so petrified due to the pureed foods, no eating and drinking and the dumping syndrome, etc. If I may add that you look wonderful in your pictures and good for you....

    Buddy/friend

Congratulations to you! You look amazing! I am just wondering if now you can eat and drink at the same time and if you still experience dumping which are the things that I am deathly afraid of. Thank you so much for your time.
  25. I have had a Vertical Banded Gastroplasty (stomach stapling) many years ago and am petrified of having a revision to Gastric Bypass. To me, it would feel like a death sentence with getting sick and throwing up and dumping and not being able to eat and drink at the same time. I have been accustomed to having food and Water be stuck in the pouch area and then painfully push through at some point. When that happened, i could eat again. Now, i have a stricture and am in such a panic over this, everyday is a struggle with anxiety and feeling of nausea and things coming up it's terrible. I already vision how much worse it would be with gastric bypass.
