Congratulations! I perfectly understand how you feel. I had always been on the side line too. I remember going to my children parent teacher conference and not sitting because I was afraid the chair would break. I had my surgery on July 31st. I cant tell you how happy I am about this. When I saw my surgeon for the 1 st time on June 12 my weight was 328, I didnt have to do a 2 week liquid diet. Two weeks ago weighted 257.2. I have gone from a 4x to 1x and still blushing from the compliments. I am not going to lie and tell you it was easy and a smooth path. I had no complication; however the changes have been very drastic and difficult to adjust. But worth every single one of them. Best of luck and please keep us updated. -
Doing well. Constant nausea still. Down to 265 as of last Sunday.
-
I had my surgery on July 31. All had gone well. I was feeling a bit tired here and there. If I ate too quickly I would vomit. So I was able to slow down and got with the program. That was until 3 weeks ago I got a boil under my armpit and about a week later i popped. I started having body aches nausea and fever. I went to the ER on Monday last week because the fever wouldnt stop and another 3 boils started to come out. I was put on antibiotics and sent home. Since then I cant barely eat anything or take my fluids. I dont even like anything I used to like. Not even the ice from my ice maker. The smell of food makes me gag. Liquids too. Yesterday all I had was a popcicle and 1/4 diet snapple also ice and bits of water. Today I forced myself to eat 1/2 of a tiny tenderloin of chicken breast. What can I do? I am scare, I feel exhausted and constantly salivating.

8 weeks post RNY and nausea
clmomof2 replied to clmomof2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks. After getting my ears pulled by my doctor I have gotten my act together. The constant nausea he says is due to the lack of fluids and protein. I was dehydrated his office is at the hospital tower so he ordered admission to monitor me. The IV is horrible but after the 3 bag I felt better. I had a small pouched tilapia w cilantro my husband brought and started by chewing crushed ice. I feel muvh better now. -
My surgery was on July 31st without any complications. This has been the best decision I have ever taken. The only problem I see is that I am never hungry. I do not like anything. I like it in the morning and then I don’t like it. I take my vitamins regularly. It took me a while to keep my food and not vomit it, but I fixed it by cutting everything with scissors. The only set back has been that I got an abscess and it got infected. I have been taking antibiotics for 1 week and it has gotten better but the fever is still present. Total weight loss 67 lbs.

My Mr.Wilson definitely does not like solids. I am starting to think that I should go and take a chewing 101 class. Suggestions? -
My surgery was 21 days ago. Although I can eat some solids still prefer colr ultra cold icy fluids. My taste buds have changed dratically and my sense of smell is more acute.

I named mine Mr Wilson. He means well, but latetly he doesnt like anything but popsicles, specifically the pinnaple flavor. -
is exactly the same as mine. My doc said that as long as there was no faul smell or pain to let it run its course.
-
I dont know if it is the same but 6 day post op my belly botton started to drain first drops but after the doc examined it it was much more. Just last night the drainage stopped. Now is from the inner belly botton just a drip.

I am 12 days post op. They weighht is normal. I weighted myself 5 days after surgery and hsd gained 1.5 lbs. I flipped! I reweighted 4 days later and had lost 10.8 lbs. Gas pain is normal and the easiest and most effective way is to walk walk walk. At your own pace lil by lil. Like baby steps!
