Any September surgeries out there
shershrinking replied to SueC1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Correction. No hernia. Just cutting away of adhesions - inteatine to stomach and pancreas, etc PACU nurse was misinformed. I am home recovering well.as of thursday. Already drove and shopped today. Belly so bruised but doesnt hurt & i cant eat much. Maybe this will help me lose another twenty pounds? Although when i got home the scale said i gained 10 pounds (water weight, the bruising, edema to tummy). I am passing gas and looking forward to the REAL RNY surgery which should stomp out my diabetes. But that will mean referral to another doc at Stanford i guess. Good news is my hospital should still pay for it. But i think i have to pay for the last surgery with my insurance & then some. Oh well So my initial planned RNY in May surgery that turned into June, then delayed by insurance issue til July, finally to do in september? Well now i bet we dont get it done til at least November. But i am in good spirits. -

No nothing evident. In preop nurse said "you are so healthy!" Doc said to do RNY today would take another 4 hours and my blood pressutr was iffy. High potentiL for ileus too after all that. Oh well at least i am not hungry! -

Sept 3. Had surgery at long last but unable to do anything, too many adhesions from 39 years ago and a big ild hernia repaired. Woke up with chest tube , telemetry, referral to Stanford san fracisco (?) possibly RNY another day. -

Any September surgeries out there
shershrinking replied to SueC1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Starting to get nervous. Less than three weeks to my surgery date sept 3. Yesterday coworkers noticed i am not on the schedule, asking why. Well i figured they might as well know, since i will come back to work with hydration and possible dumping issues. I have protein powders and vitamins for postop, gonna load up on bottled water and catfood before surgery. I have tried out ultram (tramadol) for joint pain, and discovered it really makes me itch. So its back to just tylenol and ice for me. Oh well. Tomorrow is my preop appointments with Dr and RN . Its really gonna happen. Can i get the house clean before? So much to do ... HW 290, CW 246, GW 155, 5'9", planned surgery date Sept 3. -
Woohoo for you! You are still too excited. Let the man rest! I would take a benadryl and watch tv- that always puts me to sleep.

I often think when someone is rude to me, a grown person, how rude might they be to someone who cant defend themself. -

shershrinking replied to Wendilou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Those rude people shouldnt be allowed out of the house. And dont visit them. They are a bad influence on your children. I would keep my kids away from them. They owe you an apology. They are completely uncultured. I love southern accents - and all accents and old phrases- Life would be so boring if everyone spoke perfect english. Dont deny your roots! It is just one of the many things that make us special. -
Sorry, just had to look it up and share! LOL 1. italian chandelier Share on twitter Share on facebook Share on more 1129 up, 555 down This is the real definition... It's a sexual position. The woman pushes her back and butt completly off the ground using her arm and legs, kind of like crab-walking or like when you do the bridge in gymnastics. The guy does the same thing, but facing down when they make love. I heard the Italians love it because it burns a lot of calories. The Italian Chandelier Position is great for burning calories.

Help! Low Oxygen Level
shershrinking replied to Country Girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Chloe- i think your body has gone through some stress with the surgery and all, and takes time to bounce back. Surgery/ anesthesia makes our lungs lazy, and we need to exercise them with the breathing exerciser they usually give you after surgery. When you are awake you need to do those deep breathing exercises. - 10 deep breaths every hour while you are awake until you are off oxygen. Then three times a day . Stay in close contact with your doctor, ask him or his nurse all your questions. Make a list of everything you are concerned with, even swallowing that one pill, , maybe they can give you smaller doses to crush and take twice a day instead of that one extended release pill. Rest and write things down- then you have it all available to ask dr to address all your concerns. Hope you feel better soon! You are on the losers bench now and things will get better! Keep us posted. We all care about you! -

That is so cute! -
I swam 2 laps in the pool three days this week in Montana, on vacation at Glacier Falls National Park. Walked a bit too. We were 3 crippled old ladies on vacation. Had a great time, sightseeing, on a boat tour, and a helicopter ride (i think i just squeaked on board) and ski lifts. I rang a japanese gong for luck and held a barn owl in Birds of Prey rehab center near Lethbridge, canada. My IPhone became totally useless in canada, i messed it up. What a great week!
