I am preop, taking so many friggin vitamins its twice my usual prescripitions! Calcium, vitamin D and glucosamine for my knees, Added Folic acid for my clotting factor, B-12, ocuvite for my eyes, multivitamins, larger dose of fish oil, Gingko biloba and 5HTP for depressionThats 10! Yikes! But i want to be ready and feel good, oh i forgot, i will take biotin 1 week before surgery, and if possible after to prevent hairloss. Sheesh. 11 new supplements. Plus i bought Papaya enzyme for digestion, miralax and gasX strips. Man oh man its another education. -

Stupid scale double ugh!
shershrinking replied to TinyMamiOf3kids's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hilarious! I often write the patients weight on the board when they arrive, but in kilograms, nobody knows what it means , written in with vitals, bp, etc. we put it there so we dont lose it until we enter it into the computer. Then i erase it ... No one ever complained because its in kilograms. Guess i will have to remember that! LOL! I dont want my weight up there either even if it is in kilograms... -

Good for you! Get it done. If i were to get a big cash windfall i probably would do it, but i cant see that happening. I didnt mean to criticize anyone's decision. Its all good. -

I wonder if sore tailbone could be a symptom of losing calcium? Or maybe your muscles are sore from adjusting to sudden weight loss. -

Okay i am not postop but my tailbone gets so sore on airplanes! So i always bring a little pillow to sit on. I used to also get a thin slit sore (like a papercut) in the crease between buttocks- but not since i use a pillow- or pool noodle! Currently i am sitting in my recliner on two pieces of pool noodles, just in front of my tailbone to float it. Also put two pieces of flattened pool noodles behind my neck, and one in the small of my back. This is very comfy for me. My low back feels pretty good with that one pool noodle for a back pillow. Pool noodles are 99cents at the dollar store, & cut easily with a knife. I cut about 16 inch pieces to sit on. Maybe you could try this. .. -
So funny and you look terrific!

There are some wonderful schools for autistic or asperger kids nowadays. My nephew was diagnosed very young, my sister researched and found an excellent school in detroit area- now he is a marine and an air traffic controller. We are very proud of him.

I love cakes and pies- i love to bake, but for past 10 years with diabetes i bake with splenda, am always researching new recipes with low sugar and flour. Like angelfood cake, sponge cake, etc. Maybe you could add a sideline of low sugar cakes to your business. Use creamcheese frosting instead of crisco or butter, use the splenda/cornstarch instead of powdered sugar - use more eggs, less flour by making sponge cake? Flour and sugar are my nemesis.... Splenda puts out a big cookbook.

I am not too worried about loose skin. I am looking to be healthy, not gorgeous. I will wear spanks i guess. Figure i will be coldblooded and want to wear layers when i get thin- I might get a lifestyle lift tho- necklift. -

I am waiting for a surgery date. I dont exercise much. I work 12 hour night shifts which involve a lot of walking, bending, lifting.. The most i can handle is windowshopping/walking 2-3 hours on my days off. Looking forward to getting rid of some weight before i really start exercising. I am hoping that in minus 50 lbs i will be to walk without hurting my feet, ankles or knees. My hips are already better after 30lb lost. -
You tried, you did your best. She has the information, its up to her now. Try not to take it personally. She will need your support now more than ever. Maybe start a pool going to get her an electric cigarette? Some people do well with it.. Maybe the doc will insist on nicotine patch and delay surgery... You are a good friend.

My Preop Nursepractitioner cautioned me against pineapple- i thought it was for sugar content. She also told me no bananas.

From LowCarbsRUs i ordered sugar free PinaColada, Sugarfree SweetNSour, SugarFree MaiTai. add your booze - i am diabetic. Also CrystalLight and GreatValue(walmart) have some drinks that work great - Lime GV with vodka is good. I sound like i drink a lot but its maybe once or twice a month. Presurgery.

I wont have to hide in my house anymore, for fear of frightening small children, or being mocked by jerks. I wont have to lie on my drivers license anymore I wont have to keep a variety of clothing sizes in my house because my weight goes up and down and up again, and so do my sizes (room is overflowing from sizes 20 to 28. I can shop in nicer clothing stores and fit! I wont have to be afraid of ruining the shocks when i sit in the backseat of someone's car. I wont have to sweat all the time. My feet and ankles and knees and back wont hurt so much. I might even feel sexy? -
