There was a recent desth where a well known surgeon put off addressing a leak beside he was supposedly leaving for a vacation with his family. The leak was not dealt with and the lady went septic. -

Yes I am now hearing bad things about Mexicali in the last month. Stay far away -
You generally want to spread out your Vitamins. Back to back is not best. Yes it has to be citrate. Multis don't have enough calcium anyways.

Just know that the surgery will help but not forever. Eventually eating will become "too easy" again. It's a good idea to look at your eating issues now and start working on them. It will down to willpower and good habits later on in the game. The first few years are easy that way compared to later. It becomes much more challenging later. You will have to focus on you, plan and organize your eating die the rest Of your life. Start now. :-)

Yes and initially the surgery will help you recondition yourself with food. Eventually this won't be the case and it will get much more difficult. Old habits did hard. Explore eating issues now.

If you want to maximize your loss, consider putting off cereal for a while. Processed carbs aren't the best way to maximize loss.

Have you also read up in the DS and vsg? You should research all your options. -
Anti-inflamatories
DiminishingDawn replied to Big Wojo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
NSAIDs can cause ulcers over periods of time. Some surgeons say never, some say okay with an acid reducers, some say very occasional use. After being many years out, I take them only of I have a really bad headache. Maybe one day a month ( if that). -
for those who have had surgery?
DiminishingDawn replied to Tina727's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've seen lots of people have surgery with simple colds and stuffiness. It depends to what degree you are sick. Infection? No. Cal your team -
It is a myth that caffeine aides ulcers and dehydrates you. That's old information. Read up on that. Not true. Caffeine however may upset previously existing ulcers. Many times they aren't detected prior to surgery. As well, it does interfere with absorption of calcium.

Most people get a few tablespoons in to a 1/4 of a cup.

There's no magic rule. Protein is what you should focus on. Absolute protein. Are you on shakes? Food. Most people get very little on early out and have to work toward their goals. Protein and water

Question about weight
DiminishingDawn replied to mgarrett1311's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Your body is a smart animal. Weight loss usually slows down as you get down to your goal. For most people getting underweight is not a problem as they will not get that low of a Bmi. For some people especially lightweights they may indeed get underweight and have to adjust their diet to eat more to maintain or gain weight.
