help my incision leaking
DiminishingDawn replied to calimomof4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is it a peachy colored fluid? My hubby had this with one is the incision. It kept opening and leaking like mad. The nurse said that it was healing from the inside out so the fluid had to leak out the incision. Just keep it clean and dry and change it accordingly. See your family doc or a walk in clinic if concerned. It took about 3 weeks for it to finally close. -
Frustrated w/ Slow Loss

Carb to protein ratio. -
A multi is not enough if you are deficient in anything.

I think you mean ibuprofen? No aspirin.or any NSAID. It is a huge ulcer risk.
-
Topical NSAIDs are different than pill form. Only about 5% of it gets to the stomach and pouch. That's why many surgeons will okay topical NSAIDs.

You have lots of losing time if you are following your program well. I know some people who stoppe their loss at 6 months out as that's when they stopped following the rules. Keep the junk out and you'll do fine. It will be harder and skier to lose the next half though so patience is a virtue. If you aren't exercising, it's time to start -

Yep if your doctor botched the surgery I'd definitively get a second opinion too. -

DiminishingDawn replied to music1618's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like you have mechanical failure. You are lacking a stoma. Do you have access to your medical records that might indicate whether your surgeon did not do this correctly or if you've stretched it. -
You will doom yourself. Ontario has one of the quickest systems.

I have experienced dumping syndrome maybe a handful of times of that. Most of us don't dump especially long term. As for eating and drinking, it's a bad habit sometimes. I try not to do it as I try to keep that full feeling as long as possible. Hunger is strong now so making the full feeling last is important. It is supposed to be forever to not eat and drink with an rny.

It gets much harder long term. Use your first 1-2 years and work HARD. Get the most weight off possible. -
I would only take citrate. I ended up with osteopenia because I was told to take citrate
