Today I am 5 weeks post op. I was wondering how many calories are you guys averaging? I seen to stay around 350. It seems very low to me. My doctor doesn't allow protein shakes or bars. I only lost 2 lbs this week and I wonder if its because I eat so little.

I teach 2nd grade as well! Our school doesn't have us back until Aug 15, so I've got a while. I'm nervous about going back and eating properly and getting my water in.

I had my surgery 6/21. I struggle daily with getting in my water as well. I feel like I drink nonstop and still can't get enough. I hope it gets better.

I had a horrible experience this afternoon. I haven't had a BM in several days. Today I had to go but it was large and hard as a rock, and I had a very ard time getting it to pass. I felt lie dying. Anyone else experience this? I'm going to call the nurse tomorrow to see what I can do to prevent ths from ever happening again!

I hadn't thought of that, yes I recently started taking Optisource bariatric vitamins, and they are orange! Thanks, that may be the problem. I feel better now.

I have a kinda grose question. I had a BM today, which was the first one that was not induced by milk of magnesia. It was orange! Has anyone else experienced this? My diet consists of eggs, cheese, yogurt, and peanut butter. I am concerned.....

I totally agree! Drinking protein shakes is miserable. I never want another one as long as I live!

I had my surgery June 21. My surgeon, Dr. Chapman, had me complete 2 weeks on a liquid diet. I lost 19 lbs. the surgery and recovery was much harder than I thought. I had 3 c-sections, so I assumed this would be a piece of cake, being as it was laparoscopic. I was wrong. The nausea was awful. I spent 2 nights in the hospital then came home. The doctor has me on water and protein shakes for two weeks. I am going to wait until my 2 week post op appointment to get weighed. The worse thing now is pain in my large incision of the left side of my stomach. -

I had my surgery June 21. I am on water and protein shake for 2 weeks. It is so disgusting to drink. I can't wait to actually eat. Does anyone else have a lot of pain in their left side incision? Sometimes it hurts soooo much!
