  1. Honestly, I had few last suppers and then during preop 2 week liquid diet I lost about 15 lbs anyway. My nut was ok with me gaining few pounds once, but I am afraid you cannot blame it on water retention:) I don't regret having my last meals at favorite places and I don't think it hurt me in any way. I see others points, but this is just my personal (humble) opinion

    Post Op paranoia and questions

I think you dump, but it looks like delayed dumping or what you call sugar crash...Signs and symptoms can develop later. This is due to the dumping of large amount of sugars into the small intestine (hyperglycemia). In response, the body releases large amounts of insulin to absorb the sugars, leading to low levels of sugar in the body (hypoglycemia) this can cause tiredness, lightheadedness, rapid heart rate, fainting... The sugary fruits almost certainly will make people dump due to high Sucralose content. Other symptoms like sweating and confusion can occur as well. Speaking of stretched stomach, it s supposed to allow you little more than right after the surgery... how much really are you able to eat at one sitting? More than one and a half of a cup? And what is the food you are eating... Soups and some other things just go through as liquids...

    Substitute discoveries?

Speaking of sweetners, Splenda is sucralose which may not be really good for you vs Truvia is an extract from stevia plant leaves and completely natural. I have been Truvia user since it came on the market
  5. I was wondering when did you start eating raw vegetables. My favorite thing in the whole world is cubed tomato, cucumber, onion, salt pepper and dash of plain yogurt, but I am not sure how long I have to wait... Probably until next local farmers season.. I would chew on anything raw at this point, I am so sick of drinking my meals ( it has been almost 4 weeks - 2 weeks preop and then almost 2 weeks post op... I am losing it in between preparing meals for my toddlers and for my husband.... Ugh, it would be easier if we all could drink Protein shakes and have yell-o for desert... (cue romantic music... I can almost see the whole family skipping and dancing happily on the beach with Protein Shakes in our hands, I don't know, I am just in a desperate need of chewing. Popsicles make me sick and I hate puddings... Roar... Help me Obi-wan Kenobi, you're my only hope....

    Substitute discoveries?

You may want to be careful with pea protein, the quality of it is pretty bad comparing to whey... I was warned by my dietician.

    UGH, Are you serious!?!

Maybe you are in the time of your cycle when you accumulate water? My dietician was understanding when I told her about it.
  14. You can prop a pillow under your belly and try to sleep on the side. I was doing that first and then, sleeping on my stomach within 5 days postop.

    Feelings suck!

I agree with others... And I had precisely the same thoughts. Indeed, stay focused on your goals and imagine that soon you'll get that dress and will look amazing in it!!!
  20. Not from there, I live about 15 min from Abbott hospital. This is the best facility and Im sure you'll like it. Their pillows suck though, I recommend taking your own when you head down for the surgery good luck!!
