I got sick for the first time today. It was right when I woke up and I hadn't eaten or drank anything yet. I have had a persistant cough for the last couple days and my sinuses seem to be on overdrive. :-/ It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. I just had my surgery on the 27th. Anyone else have a cough they can't shake? Know why/how to fix??? Getting sick totally took the wind out of my sails. Heading back to pillow city for a bit.

I was told the itching is from all the gas they fill you with leaving your body. I was so itchy all over for the first couple of days. Warm shower helped a lot.

Had surgery Thursday and am 4 days post op. lost 4 lbs I gained from the surgery. Started at 337.8, got to 320.8 on the liquid, was 324.6 yesterday when I got home and 320.6 today. My dr said there is potential to lose 15% in the first 2 weeks.

Any suggestions? I do not have any button up shirts and I am not going to want to wear a hoodie bc it has been 90 degrees here this week!!! Is it too hard to put on a tshirt?

I have so much anxiety! It's awful. My alarm is set to 515... And I doubt I will sleep at all... Is it silly to feel so frightened when I am the one who chose to do this? And knowing its going to make me better??? I just looked at my full pasty belly in the mirror and said "tomorrow, I end you" and then I picked out funeral songs... Lol totally whacked right now!!! I hate being scared. :-/

Got my confirmation call! They moved my surgery up a half hour... 845 Thursday! I am most looking forward to it so I don't have to worry about this clear liquid diet anymore!!!

I am terrified and excited at the same time too... It's such an unusual combination of emotions. It sucks that it takes so long to get to the day... Lots of time to think over all that you are doing and going through and lots of time to over think it!!! So glad it will be over soon and also just beginning!!! I feel like I am getting a do- over.

If you add in a brick of fat free cream cheese and mix it rally well it is like cheesecake!!! Delicious!!!

I have been on a liquid diet for almost 2 weeks. I can't wait to come home next weekend and have some yogurt or pudding or puréed soup... It sounds amazing!!!

Sparkpeople is great, they have an app and a website full of tools and experts. I lost 80 lbs using their site 2 years ago. It's a great program.

It is a strong person who makes the decision to rearrange their insides for a better quality of life. Think of all you have been through already! You have to be a fighter to get through pre-op and you did... You can do this!

I agree. I have been over 300 #s for as long as I can remember. Even 250 would be amazing! It's getting close. I have lost 15 lbs so far on the liquid diet alone and I still have until thurs to lose more... Thursday is the day my life changes forever....

You aren't a quitter!!! You are doing what you have to do to have a better quality of life!!! Everyone is made different. My diabetes prevents me from losing weight on my own. Don't let others dictate how you should live your life! Besides... What difference does it make to him??? This is your journey. Rock it!!!

I am so glad to have found this forum. My surgery is this coming Thursday and I was so scared and just unsure about everything! It is awesome to hear everyone's real stories and situations and not just some skinny dr dietician or nurse saying everything is gonna be peachy...
