    November Exercise Challenge!

Good morning everyone! Just a quick note this morning because I am running late! Becky you continue to amaze me -- great job!!!! I met a nice young lady while working out this morning. She was wearing short shorts and a midriff top, and it was obvious that she had a stunning figure. I told her that I hoped to look as good a she does one day and she said "Oh, you will. I have lost 85 lbs." I couldn't believe it -- the woman did not have an ounce of fat on her body!!! That was inspirational to say the least........... Have a great day everyone!!! Roll Call!!!!!

Hi LadyBugRed, If you haven't had your first fill yet, in my humble opinion you shouldn't be too concerned about your progress. I lost only 14 pounds before my first fill. The majority of that weight came off in the first few weeks after surgery, and then the scales came to a dead halt. I lost 8 pounds almost immediately after my first fill, and am pleased with the steady progress I have made thus far. I really don't think most people start to see real progress until they start getting fills. This does seem to be a process for most of us. As you read these boards you have probably noticed that some people need only one fill while others need two, or three or even several. I don't feel that I am at an optimum level of restriction yet, and am scheduled for my third fill next month. Hope this helps a little and Good luck! November Exercise Challenge!

Good Morning All! Well, I certainly had an eventful workout this morning......I got asked out on a date. About halfway through my workout this morning as I was walking (and sweating copiously and panting), a very pleasant, thirty-something, man waved at me and said good morning as I walked past. A few minutes later he caught up with me on the road and started a conversation. I live in a very social place and meet new people all of the time. I therefore thought nothing of it and stopped to chat. About 20 minutes into the conversation he asked me if I would like to join him for dinner this evening. At that point you really could have knocked me over with a feather (although hopefully I didn't show it). It never even occurred to me that he might be "interested." After battling this weight problem for so long now, that sort of thing isn't even a part of my mind set. I don't wear jewelry when I work out and wasn't wearing my wedding ring, so I explained to him that I am married. A few minutes later we ended the conversation with him playing Sean Kingston's, "Beautiful Girls" on his iPhone for me -- because, he said, "You are a beautiful woman." How's that for a major ego boost on a Sunday morning????? Crazy Ates November Exercise Challenge 15/16 Days of Exercise Banded 8/07/07 Dr. Miguel Zapata, Monterrey Mexico 9.75 cm/4cc Inamed Band
  4. Hi Nana, I think 100 Lbs in the first year is a bit of a push, but totally doable. In fact, I fully expect to lose that much by next August, if not even (hopefully) more. Look at WasaBubbleButt (Hi Wasa !). She worked hard and lost 103 pounds in 10 months. We can do the same -- absolutely! 5. Hi Everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!!!! I sort of blew it last night at dinner when I was served a HUGE plate of food at the gathering I attended. I was talking and enjoying the conversation all through dinner and not focusing on what I was eating -- all the while I was unconsciously eating very large portions of "mushies" (stuffing and mashed potatoes -- my holiday favorites). Since my first fill I have been more or less avoiding foods like this because I know how easily they go down. Anyhow, at one point during the meal (too late unfortunately) I looked down at my plate and realized that I had eaten far too much. I have decided not to beat myself up over this. I am going to just chalk this up to experience. The lesson learned is that the band will not remind me when I am overindulging on mushies, and that it is important to pay very close attention to what I am eating --- always, always, always...................... I hope everyone else did a whole lot better than I did yesterday!! Have you been shopping for new clothes?

Hi Nana, Once I get to goal (which is quite some time down the road yet), I plan to have a few of my favorite classic, basic, pieces tailored down. The majority of my larger-sized clothing however, will be passed on.............. November Exercise Challenge!

Sounds like you are off to a good start with the trainer Nana! I am doing well with the cardio portion of my workout, but I must start in earnest with the weight training. My problem is that I had an awesome trainer in the States (a Golden Gloves Boxing champion), and nobody else can measure up to him. When you are trained by a boxer, that is one tough workout!!!! They have no mercy or sympathy, as you might imagine. I have tried other trainers, but they just don't work me hard enough. Also, I prefer to work with free weights and the vast majority of trainers prefer to work with machines. I therefore think the time has come for me to go it alone, hence my current lack of motivation................... My former trainer is still a dear friend and I was just discussing this with him the other night. One reassurance he gave me was that my current cardio regime is good. That said, no more excuses -- the time has come to start working with the weights again. Have you been shopping for new clothes?

Hi Candle, I have. I know that the new clothing I just purchased will probably not fit me in a few months, but my former wardrobe was getting to the point to where it was looking absolutely ridiculous on me. During a recent trip to San Antonio, I was able to find some great items on sale, and (hopefully) what I bought will do me for a few months. Accessorizing with scarves, wraps and jewelry is giving me different looks so that I can get by with fewer outfits for the time being. Also after years of yo-yo dieting, I have just about every size imagainable in my closet -- so, I am joyfully rediscovering some of my older clothing, some worn for only a nanosecond while I was on the way up (or down), and even a few pieces with the price tags still on. November Exercise Challenge!

Hi Gang! Sorry it took me so long to return to the board, but I have been traveling for the past nine days. I'm back now and doing fine. I am pleased to report that I maintained my commitment to exercise while traveling. I took long walks whenever possible and I worked out in hotel gyms when there were no other, better options. Yesterday, I took three flights and spent 13 hours in airports and on planes, and still managed to do a 30 minute, fast-paced, walk at the Miami airport -- which is a (surprisingly) good place to do a walk. I am glad to see that everyone is doing so well :clap2::clap2::clap2:!!!! Talk to you soon!
