Feeling frustrated
Tammy wright replied to Tammy wright's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been thinking the same thing. Also being 3 hours away was a concern but I've also heard others on here being that far or even farther away than 3 hours. My PCP had never referred anyone for WLS. I'm his first so I kinda feel like his Guinea pig. Lol. I've scheduled all my own appointments and the specialists just send him the reports. Every month he goes over everything asking lots of questions and now he has a patient he is talking to about WLS. So maybe I'm the pioneer in this area... Lol Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk -

I read most of the post on here but I'm always on the run so I don't post much. I've been following the thread the nightmare continues. Has anyone heard how mismachine is coming along? Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk -

I just got back from a week in Branson and we had a great time. Took my two oldest granddaughter's with us. During the week of going to shows and sight seeing they, along with my boyfriend decide to go zip lining. I wanted to go but knew the harness thingy wouldn't fit. Then on to the ejection seat, again not even going to try! Was afraid I'd shoot to the moon when they let that thing go... Then the dreaded Silver Dollar City amusement park... I did my usual sitting at the exits waiting on them to get off the rides. The park is up and down hills and I had to take breaks all the time but I made it, whew! I saw many people asked to leave the rides because they didn't fit and that's why I didn't even try to go on rides. They have test seats at the front of the ride and I wonder why ppl didn't try the test seat to see if they fit instead of being humiliated by being asked to leave. But all in all I had an awesome time knowing that next year everyone else will have to work at keeping up with me!!! I'm riding every darn ride in the park and every place else. Can't wait!!! Amusement park rides ugh!

I know, give up isn't part if my vocabulary any more. I've completed all but two requirements from my insurance company and those two are scheduled for the 18th & 20th. I'm still waiting on the center to call with my first appointment date but I want to be ready when they finally do then maybe I can get in the surgery schedule. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk -
Why do they make you loose weight first??? Isn't that why we have the surgery? To loose the weight? I don't understand. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

I hate the heat, it was 97 and very humid and I had sweat coming out my ears. Lol Kids kept telling me to get a scooter to ride around on but I'd die first... Up side of it is I lost 5 lbs.. I'm sure partly because I was afraid to eat in that heat and all the walking up and down steep hills, I was afraid the exertion would make me vomit. Boyfriend kept saying " I gotta give you credit for pushing on" lol Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk -
Just a little question here... Does anyone on here have neuropathy? I have it in my feet and sometimes my shoes will fall off because my feet don't feel right or hurt. Also if I stand or walk too long my right leg gets cold and goes numb. So here's my question... After your weight loss did the neuropathy go away? Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

I have some high readings on occasion. But nothing to require medication yet. But I'm right on the borderline. I sure hope wls helps me... Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk -
I'm in the beginning stage of my journey to a better, healthier me.. But I'm really worried because I could eat all day long and when I sit down to a meal I just keep on eating... I've helped the grandkids order their meals thinking if they don't finish it, I will... I'm just afraid after rny surgery I might still never feel full... I know its pathetic but am I the only one out there that has this problem... Will the surgery work for me? I want it so bad. I've been ordering protein powders, supplements and trying to prepare myself for it to work. I've tried the liquid died for a few days to c if I can actually do it and I cheated and took a bite here and there! I didn't take more than a bite but why did I have to cheat??? I hate it for doing that and I'm just worried...can I really do this???

Fabulous February Post-Op's
Tammy wright replied to ArmyWife&Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chrissy, I'm sorry your husband is being a jerk but I'm worried I might be in the same situation... I just ended a 23 year relationship mostly do to my weight gain at least that's what he blamed his cheating on... But now I have the most awesome guy in my life who fell in live with me being fat... After dating a while I told him I was having wls ( I'm still Pre op) and he said he'd support me... I mostly believe him but there's this nagging voice that askes, will he really feel the same after I loose the weight... Some guys like bigger women, don't know why but they do and I'm hoping he loves me for what's inside not outside. Probably my insecurities talking but I still am worried... I have finished some of the requirements for the insurance company and the rest will be finished by August 21st... I was told they ( the wls clinic) )they will call within a couple weeks of receiving my info. So what can I expect to happen next?

I cant seem to feel full!
Tammy wright replied to Tammy wright's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most of the time I hate to see them leave, mostly because I know things at home for them should be a lot better. My mom had a stroke and requires round the clock care and my dad is very frail and does dialysis 3 times a week. I moved them in with me about 6 months ago to take care of them. I also have a 33 you're old with cerebral Palsey and she has needs that must be met. When the grandkids come now I can't give them all if my attention like I did before and kids nowadays feel the need to be entertained so when they get bored they pick at each other till there is a screaming match or one of them slugs the other one. I have days where everything seems to go wrong and there's not enough of me (even being this size) lol, to go around... Both my parents and my daughter are all on different diets and the kids don't usually want what I fix for them and sometimes I can't blame them... Lol so with everyone in this house sometimes I fix 4 different meals to please everyone...One of the things I look forward to is the extra amount if energy and the lack of chronic pain after my surgery...I'm trying to fit me into the plan of getting healthy so I can be better at taking care of everyone else. My new BF of the last 5 months has been a God send and he will be the one to go through this surgery and be there for my aftercare. He has 3 weeks vacation to use if need be and about 25 days of comp time so I'll be in good hands. I just pray everyone else don't run him off... Lol Lucky for me he really cares about my family and they love him. I've been truly blessed. -

Does everyone have to take a long written eval with the psych? I've heard some say it was just a few questions and others took a 2 hour written eval... Is it up to the individual psych or do most surgeons want it? -

I was set on doing the band but then really dug into some research and decided from what I've read I'd prefer to go through this process only once and I'm convinced I will have a better life with the rny... -

I might have mislead about the grand kids... It's my 35 year old daughter who leaves the kids... Lol She doesn't live with us, thank goodness... She's really wild but had babies to try and change her men she was with... I've had each if them since birth and about 3 years ago she met a nice guy who offer a home and security so after a while I let them go live with them in tulsa and things were good till they split up. So now she dropped them off for a visit when school was out and hasn't been back to pick them up... I can't force her to be a good mother but I can't stand the thought of them being split up in foster care... They're good kids. (For the most part) lol grandmas love is very strong so everyday is a new day and we get through it. They're having trouble settling back into my rules but they're getting there... Chores first then whatever they choose for entertainment. I have twenty acres and about half is woods so they entertain themselves with making forts and that kind of thing... So its really tough but we muddle through it every day. They've already got their plans on how they're going to help me after surgery so we'll see... -
Off to Topeka, Kansas for my wl seminar... Looking forward to lots of information...

I still need a pulmonologist... (Sp) Did they have one for you or did you have to find one on your own??? My PCP has not had anyone do wls and its up to me to figure it out on my own.
