Congratulation! It feels good to hit those goals, doesn't it.

That's an interesting theory. I've been drinking at least 64 oz of water a day, so I would think that is enough. But, who knows....
-
Okay you guys are just wierd if you like my goth names of dead fart and putrified anus.... ;)/ I didn't dare try my DH's after that....

Hope everyone is doing well tonight. Hi Dini! Thanks for the kind words. I've been having trouble with food of late. Seems everything makes me slime a little the last couple of days. Getting old! Food doesn't seem to be that enjoyable lately. But, can't really complain. Haven't lost in last few days, but think I'll make my goal by the cruise. Would like to be 162 by then. Take care!

And I got Dead Fart, so I went for maiden name and got putrified anus.....not funny!

Hi everyone! I've been out of pocket for awhile and was just catching up on posts the last day or two. Hope everyone is doing well. I've been doing good, but feeling a little under the weather and stressed at work, and traveling to boot. But, I've lost a few more pounds and got into the 160's which is great! Clothes are fitting well too. I saw that a few people seem to be testing their bands and I wonder why, when everyone invested alot of time and money into getting this tool. I haven't been trying to test the band, just trying to keep losing. I have had a sip of my DH's coke once or twice at a restaurant and it tests terrible. I gave up my Dt Mt Dews in July, but haven't really missed them. Drink Water all day with one crystal light a day with my benefiber in it.

Chris, Sorry for your loss. Sounds like you are maintaining very well in such a stressful period.

Thanks Cherea! Sorry you've been so under the weather. Hoping your better and everything has cleared up soon!

Hi there! I've averaged two pounds a week, but had only lost .5 the week before. Didn't do anything different this past week, but it was the week of my period and I might have been retaining fluids before. Including pre-op diet, I've lost 38.5 in 92 days, so I'm pleased. I'm still averaging less than a 1,000 calories, though go over that on some days. I have a low carb Slim Fast Choc shake almost every morning: 190 cal, 6 carb, 20 Protein, 9 fat, and 4 Fiber. lunch is usually lettuce and spinach with 22 cals of low fat good seasonings italian dressing (the kind you make yourself) and either ham or turkey slices, good protein, a couple of strawberries or some pistachios, etc. dinner is a meat (eating lots of chicken) with a baked potato or an egg with ham and low carb piece of toast, etc. No Snacks for the most part, although I did have a 100 calorie bag of popcorn tonight. First popcorn I've had in three months. It was good. I also exercise most nights. Ex bike, sit-ups, squats, hand weights, etc. Thanks for the compliments!

Lynette, Congratulation on reaching your first goal. It's going to be all downhill from here!

Hi everyone! I'm just catching up on posts as I've been pretty busy this week. I'm doing well. I've lost 4 pounds so far this week and getting real close to 160's.... I think I'd been retaining fluid last week, cause i only lost 1/2 a pound yesterday. I can't believe how well it's going. I'm going back through my clothes so fast. Some pants I only got to wear twice before putting them aside. It's a nice feeling and the compliments have been coming fast and furious at work.

None of my fills have hurt and he doesn't numb me or use a fluroscope. He just has me keep my legs out straight lying down and raise them slightly to tighten the stomach muscles and it is easy to see where to stick the needle. No pain! Kathy, thanks for asking about NSV, pretty sure it meant a new good thing, but didn't know what it stood for. Tried to post from airport on Sunday, but lost it and didn't feel like typing again. Wanted to tell you what my dr said when i asked him why we panic so when we pb. I mean it isn't blocking the airway, so why do we sweat, get flushed, have saliva pouring out, nose running, get panicky, etc. etc. He said that it is because of all the main nerves running behind the esophagus. I remember that my mother had a hysterectomy for cancer and then they stuck their hands in to remove the tumor that was on the intestines and her heartrate would skyrocket. When they pulled back out, everything was normal. It was the Vaga (sp?) nerve that runs up the esophagus to the stomach.

Jackie, Great story about the movie! Glad you felt so good!

It's funny, but I was the opposite, didn't feel any restriction after the first fill at first, but did the last two weeks. Asked Dr and he said that was unusual, usually it loosens, not tightens.

Ruby, I don't know what to tell you. You mentioned protein drinks, should you really be drinking extra protein any more now that you are on regular foods? I know they say not to drink any caloric liquids at all. I still drink a low carb slimfast in the a.m. but that's really a meal replacement as opposed to a protein supplement. Other than that I eat two more meals, so three meals in total and no snacks! I've been stuck on the same number for the past five days, but Flo is coming next week. I only had 580 calories today, but that's because I didn't even drink my shake until after my fill and the dr was running late, so it was almost eleven before I had b'fast. Thought about eating something else, but I'm not hungry, so I'll just go to bed. Got a 3:45 wake up call to get to the airport. Dr said if you are pb'g then it's means you are close to the sweet spot. Don't want to do much of that or you'll stretch it and it could slip.
-
Got my 2nd fill today. He decided to give me 1 cc this time. Since I'm doing so well, he thinks we're close to the sweet spot, so he doesn't want to see me for two more months.
-
Chim, hope your weigh in next week is fantastic! You've got real will power not to weigh yourself!
-
Kathy, Good luck on your business trip. I think the trick is just to remember to eat slowly no matter how hungry you are. I think we can eat anything in small quantity if we can just remember that.

I ate too quicklly and got into trouble on business trip today. I was at the airport by 5:30 a.m., so my breakfast shake earlier didn't last me very long, so by 11:00 in my first meeting, I was starving and stomach was growling. We ended up grabbing a quick burger, so I tried to eat it with one side of the bun and a piece of lettuce to hold it together and I guess I was eating and swallowing too quickly. Only had about three bites and face got flushed and chest tight and I knew I was in trouble, so I excused myself and went to the ladies room. It has never been this bad. I couldn't believe the level of pain and I went into the handicap stall and paced, and tried to breathe, Nose was running, heart was pounding, eyes tearing. I didn't think it was going to pass, but finally, I was able to get it out. It's funny, but I only kept two bites down, but once I got the third bite out, I felt fine and actually felt full.....not sure why on the last. Ended up meeting vendors for another meeting and about two hours later they wanted to treat us to lunch. Ended up getting a bowl of french onion soup and a roll and that went down fine. Then flew back home and exercised for an hour. Then a more sensible dinner of ham and an egg. But wasn't full, so waited awhile and had another shake. About 1067 calories in total. 2nd fill is supposed to be on Thursday, but I'm back to thinking perhaps I don't want to get it. The first fill was fine until this last week and things seem tight. Perhaps it is tight enough already and I should leave well enough alone. Plus I fly out early Friday morning to meet my husband for a very hectic weekend trip. Which includes my 30th HS reunion. My Dr only recommends liquids for that one day, but might have problems away from home during the weekend.
