When did you guys start drinking regular coffee again?
Equestriangirl replied to ButterflyRainbow's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My program didn't restrict coffee but I didn't start drinking until about 6 months post. I did however drink a coffee protein drink made by a company called Chike. It's awesome. 20 gm of protein 2.5 gm of sugar, 130 calls. It has real espresso. I am 2 1/2 yrs post RNY and still have a shake every morning. The company has other flavors as well and you can buy on Amazon. -

1 Month Out- Having A Tough Time
Equestriangirl replied to Chelle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One thing I learned from this process is that the time tables they give you don't always work for everyone. At 4 weeks I was still super tired and a little foggy. Went back to work at 6 weeks and was still pretty tired. 8 weeks was so much better. Food wise my stomach still isn't happy with some proteins. Make sure you get your protein, fluids in. -
I like the food scale. You just put your plate on and zero the scale and then put your food on. It's simple.

Scales have not moved for 2 weeks! ten weeks post op
Equestriangirl replied to liane's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the My fitness pal app to track everything that goes in my mouth. It can be very enlightening. If your calories are too low sometimes increasing them by 100-200 helps. Also, changing up your exercise can help. I also find drinking more fluids helps. If you can use the my fitness pal app. It's free and sometimes it can be an eye opener. -
Is there anyone out there who did not lose hair after surgery? I'm only 7 weeks and hoping it's not going to happen to me but I'm still so early.

How many grams of protein a day?
Equestriangirl replied to Mid West's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Protein 60-80 gm.plus at least 48 oz of fluid. I was up walking the evening after surgery. I didn't go too far though, only to the door. I got dizzy and light headed. You have to make sure the first time you walk with a nurse. Walking is the best way to get the anesthesia and gas out of your body. -

A poached egg was better for me than scrambled. Maybe because with the wet yoke it's more moist. -

Equestriangirl replied to baseball44's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Premier shakes, you can get at SAMs club, Cosco. unjury, I liked the chicken Soup flavor but I hear the unflavored is good to mix with foods Isopure pre mixed fruit flavored, I like the grape flavored. You can find at GNC. Chike Protein shakes. I found them on Celebrate bariatric. Vitamins web site. These all worked for me. Good luck!
