  1. I had the Roux-en-y gastric bypass thirteen years ago. Withing about a1 1/2 years i went from 280 to 120. I became so anemic that I needed blood transfusions. I had alot of severe stomach pain off and on for years. After about 3 years I started to gain the weight back. For the longest time I had diahrrhea about twenty times a day. I couldn't eat enough to stay healthy. I still have to have iv Iron treatments, I have osteoporosis, and I'm fat again. I've always taken the Vitamins, but My levels of iron, ferritin, b-12, Vitamin d, and folic acid are always too low. I ended up needing a hysterectomy to try and control the anemia. I thought I would be thin forever, but i blew it. I thought I looked good at 120, but people thought i was dying. I really felt like I was the weakest person on earth to gain back the weight after this surgery. the problem is that I still had the same obsession with food. When asked if I'd do it again, I have to say that I would. I really wanted to be thin. I'm trying not to hate myself for my weight problem, but to be honest I have a hard time with that.
