I'm confused...talk to me
Fairyluver75 replied to Lisa R's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! That seems like so much at just being 2.5 weeks out. I was on pure liquids the first week, second week I started having jello, cottage cheese, sugar free Popsicles. I was only getting maybe 40 grams of protein a day and maybe 30 oz of water a day. No set meals, just sipping my day away. Now that I'm a month out, I'm finally having set meals but still maybe only 600 call a day because it's so hard to eat that much. Have you talked to a Nut?? -
Oh no! That's terrible! Six weeks! An they are only going to send you fiber info to bind?? That seems like a long time to have that with pain, maybe you need a second opinion?? Hope it gets better. What about cheese? That always plugs me up! As far as your work, can you get a medical excuse and that way they can't take action due to laws against termination stemmed from illness??? Praying everything works out for you!

Beautiful! Baby steps, we'll get there!

Whoooo hoooo! Get it girl! Gorgeous!! I hope you do go back to therapy, it will be a great step for you. Major changes coming so we need to get our heads to match our body changes! Hugs!!

I was thinking of trying it as well, especially since the price has gone down a lot from when it first came out. But I have so many other programs I've purchased when I was an infomercial junkie that I might hold off on it and see if I use any of the others first. Let us know how it works out!

Congratulations!! That is awesome!!! Yay you!!

Although I'm not there yet, this is a fear I have as well of all the hanging skin. I know I will have some, I've been fat my entire life, I'm in my 30's so it's not going to bounce back, it's been stretched for too long. I'm scared. But I think even though we see the hanging skin and stretch marks, we have to think of how much healthier we are becoming, how many more years we've added back into our lives. It is a start with complimenting you on your hair. Give it time, he will come around. You are a beautiful woman, now you need to start believing it. I've been thinking of going to a therapist to work these things out. Maybe it's something you could look into as well, if only to build up your confidence. You are an inspiration and I thank you for sharing your story. Write down your goals, baby steps ☺

Oh my gosh I know right?! I've never been constipated like this before! It's almost a relief when it is diarrhea! I tried a little salsa and it was fine! No issues so far! Yay!! Hope you feel better soon!
-
Hahahahaha you are so right ajustice! I'm so going to do that tomorrow!! I hope it works for me because I miss it!!
-
I guess I won't know until I find out right?? I know everyone is different but it seems that it's not too bad, so I'm gonna have to try it, I already have to go without sugar I need some fun!

I've noticed that quite a bit of you all are able to eat chili or salsa, did it not irritate your stomach? My dr had said not to eat chili or things like that because it could cause irritation, I love chili and salsa and miss it
-
Yeah all dr's seem to be different. I'm 3 1/2 weeks out and I'm still on mostly liquid. My dr wants me to be on that until next week. I've been trying things though here and there. I've found that I seem to be now lactose intolerant to the non-fat milk products like yogurt. Which bums me out because I love milk etc. I have been trying beans, eggs, and I tried a bit of potato. I know others are usually on the full mushy or soft stage by now. I honestly think it depends on your body as well

Omg seriously also craving healthy stuff like a tuna sandwich! Also of course have a craving for pizza and popcorn! My sister made some popcorn on he stove with butter and I wanted to die, it smelled so fantastic! But we can do this! Definitely prayers are what we need! This is only temporary!

Has your dr contacted you yet? How are you feeling?
-

I definitely was and probably will always be a sugarholic. I had the RNY, I'm only 3 weeks out but I haven't had any sugar for the past 5 weeks. I had to be on pure liquids for 2 weeks prior to surgery and of course now I have the fear of dumping I have not touched it. It's pure fear for me! I miss coke I miss sweets. The great part though is you get to have lots of sugar free Popsicles, jello, sf puddings. So it's not that bad. You can do it!!

how did u decide Gastric bypass rather than the sleeve
Fairyluver75 replied to mom24kiddos's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
The way I decided on the RNY was because my dr had mentioned that with the sleeve you would eventually have to have another surgery. The band to me was strange because you have this foreign thing in your body and it creeped me out especially since you could feel it. My friend has it and when she got pregnant I could see the port pushing against her tummy as she got bigger. I decided the RNY was the best option due to the amount of years in existence and I don't want to have another surgery, already went through that situation, don't want to do it again. Hope that helps!
