I am in Toronto Ontario and we also go back on September 3rd. I will have to go into school the last 2 weeks of August to prep my room. I am a bit worried about how I will fit in my exercise once school starts. What grades do you all teach? I teach kindergarten and in September we are going to full day programs, up to now I have had an AM and PM class.

Did anyone throw up blood after their surgery? If so what was cause and how long did it last? Thanks for you help.

I ran today too for the first time during my walk. It was for a very short distance and it was downhill but I run and I am happy about it :-) Think I will look into that app too. HW:293 SW:272 CW:263

See your doctor for sure. I hope everything gets better asap. This is my worry right now . I am 12 days post op and have been doing great, no pain, getting Protein and liquid in easily, walking etc. Everything had been going so well I am convinced something has to go wrong soon :-(. Hooray!! I finally got in! On my phone I could not figure out how to join the group so I went to the computer. After much playing around I found the page then linked to another page that had all the details of this group and finally when I was about to give up in frustration I saw the button at the top that said join this group. Yay! Anyway my name is Sonia and I teach full day kindergarten in Toronto, Ontario. I love the idea of this group so we can share ideas on how to get through the school day successfully. I really hope other people join up. I had my surgery on July 10 so just 9 days post op right now. Doing quite well, no pain to talk of just discomfort. I am getting in my protein and water and drinking enough too. Also walking 2 miles a day right now, want to increase it but it is too bloody hot. I am wondering how to keep in the daily walks when I return to the classroom in September. I have a tendency to do all things school, family, home, first and run out of time for "me" stuff! I found the educators forum under social groups and I would love to join but it keeps asking for a forum password. Anyone know where I could retrieve my password as I have NO IDEA what it could be? I can read and post to all the forums and threads I have going but not add new ones :-(

July 2013 - Post Op Thread
Sonia65 replied to PittGuy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone, I am 9 days post op and doing pretty well. Getting at least 48oz of water a day usually more. Averaging 80g protein and 700 calories. Have also walked a minimum of 2 miles a day most days since day Monday :-) I guess I am lucky, so far pain has been easily bearable only took Tylenol for 2 days (mostly coz I had a headache) since then nothing. I do find I tire easily, have to go back to bed for a rest after my shower :-) and enjoying a siesta in the afternoon. I find I am waiting for something to go wrong (a stricture or something) but know I should just relax a count my blessings for now. Wishing everyone out there a speedy recovery. -
Nicole let us know how you are doing. I am 5 days out and feeling a bit tired and weak but other than that doing quite well. Sipping, walking, resting,... And repeat :-) How are all you other July ops feeling?

My protein was low today so I had a protein to go. They are gross but small so I got it down . Really hoping my unflavoured unjury protein powder arrives tomorrow. -

Hello everyone. Surgery was Wednesday and it went well. I felt pretty good and was walking about quite quickly. Wednesday night was challenging since I threw up blood 4 times. They took blood (several times which was difficult as my veins were not cooperating:-() and were able to rule out internal bleeds so it was just old blood that had leaked out during surgery. Yesterday I felt a bit sore but only took Tylenol for pain and I walked and sipped and slept all day. Today I came home and I am still walking and napping. Ate oatmeal for breakfast and cottage cheese and yoghurt for supper plus a shake. So all in all doing quite well. Really hope it continues this way and everyone else is doing well.

4 Optifast liquid shakes a day for 16 days. Plus lots of Water . 7 days done so far. Unlike most people it seems, I like the shakes so I am doing ok with it. I mix with about double the recommended amount of water and lots of ice.

I am on day 7 of optifast. 9 days to go and then the fun really starts. :-)
