    June Post Ops!

Monica congrats on the gym class! I was amazed the first time I tried jogging and could do it! It's amazing what losing that extra weight can do and it makes me wonder how we carried it around all that time. As far as compensating for working out in my diet, I still drink at least 2 protein shakes everyday so I make sure to drink and extra one on the 4-5 days a week that I intensely work out. I always go to meat as my source of lean high protein...a can of tuna has about 20g of protein, as well as a couple oz of chicken, steak or fish all 20 plus grams. I found these 4 oz filet mignon steak cuts, individually wrapped at Walmart for about 5 dollars a piece and they are perfect. Hope this helps! And sorry you can't eat eggs! I love them.

Thanks for the support and encouragement everyone. I have been obsessing and killing myself working out everyday and counting the calories etc. But you are all correct, I just need to take a step back and calm down. Look how far we have all come and be proud! And I ordered that swimsuit on amazon for like $40 and just prayed it would look good! I also found another one that is the pin up girl style for $6 !!! I couldn't resist. We just bought a beach house where I hope to be spending some time this summer. I didn't want to spend a hundred dollars on a ladies swimsuit that I may only be able to wear a few times with how often our bodies change. Thanks everyone for being my voice of reason!

    June Post Ops!

Okay junies, I have to vent! I'm so frustrated right now. I have increased my water and fluid intake as well as my protein to around if not over 100 grams/oz a day. I have also been power walking/jogging 2 miles 4-5 days a week. I have not lost anything. So irritating. I started doing weight loss yoga today so maybe that will kick something into gear! I know I'm toning and building lean muscle mass but I still want the scale to move!!! Im so close!Any other suggestions would be great. Think skinny thoughts!lol. I am 186 as of now and would like to be at least to 158 by my I year surgery date June 19. Which will put me at 100lbs in a year and 170 lbs from my highest. Oh and I got brave and bought a swimsuit too ladies!

    I'm always exhausted

Also have your vit D checked, I was having the same problem but was taking my vitamins and getting in all my protein. I now take a RX vit D and I can tell a huge difference.

    June Post Ops!

I have been so frustrated with my weight loss recently. I was 258 they day of surgery 6-19, at my 3 month 9-17 I was 218 and today I am 209. So 49lbs in 4 months which is good but less than 10lbs the last month. I still walk 2-3 miles 4-5 days a week and I have increased my protein to a minimum of 90 grams a day the last 3 weeks-month. I typically get at least 50-60 oz of water as well.

    June Post Ops!

I had surgery June 19th and weighed 258-260. Now almost 4 months later I weight 211! Yay! 48-50 lbs in 3 1/2 months is great but I feel like it had drastically slowed down in the last few weeks. I was 218 sept 17 at my 3 month appt. so only 7 lbs in the last 3 weeks. Has this happened to anyone else. I know it usually slows down when you get close to to the 200 lbs mark and wonderland. Lol. I've upped my protein so I'm drinking 3 shakes a day again and only eating once maybe twice of I'm lucky. I find it hard to eat more than that with my schedule and the don't drink 30 before or after rule. My doctor said to keep doing what I'm doing and it should pick up. I walk 2-4 miles pretty much 5 days a week.

I go for my 3 month follow op next week. First time seeing my surgeon since the week after surgery.( I live in another state) I was hoping to be down at least 50lbs but I should be between 45-50lbs I am really starting to see a difference and I feel great. Someone at work I hadn't seen in a couple months didn't even recognize at first. Totally made my day.

  20. It's true! I have found myself thinking every couple weeks when the weight loss slows down that I'm failing, or everyone is losing like crazy! But sometimes I take a deep breath and a step back and I realize I am losing too. We are all worth it and will succeed. The first month I "only" lost 16 lbs, others seemed to be losing a lb a day so I felt so behind. I will be three months out sept 19 th and there are others that has surgery around the same time I did like within a day or two that have lost 50 lbs already. Today I have 37 , I would love to be at 50 for my 3 month post op but it doesn't look like its going to happen. I know exactly how you feel but I have come to realize and accept I can compare myself to them all I want but it's not going to make me loose any faster and it will only make me miserable! Hang in there! We made the right choice and it will pay off!

I just got a fit bit for my Birthday and I love it! I researched them for awhile and they had great reviews. It comes with a blue tooth USB toggle you leave plugged in to your computer and you can sync it when you get a chance. You can also download the app on your phone and Bluetooth sync it there as well. You can log fluid and food intake on the app/online as well as set weight goals. I actually like it better than the my fitness pal.

    Drinking after surgery

I'm about 2 1/2 months out and I have had a glass of wine for my birthday and when I went out the girls one day. Just sip on it because it will hit you fast if you don't. I also sipped water with it the first time and I didn't really feel as drunk. Lol
