And yes that is a very good thing!! Im itching to tell someone so here I am with my bandmates. It just doesnt seem real, that it could be possible. I am going to go today and have a blood test done to be positive. I have taken 4.... yes 4 lol... home tests. The first two were the answer brand with the two lines. I got 2 lines but one was very light on both that is why I wanted to try another brand. I went and got a couple EPT tests, the digital type and both of those said PREGANT :tt1:. I want to wait to tell family and friends till I get the results of the blood test. Let me go into my past a bit so everyone understands why this seems so unreal to me. First I am 40. I was with my late husband for 15 years and we didnt do anything to prevent pregnancy during the majority of that time. I had given up any hopes of it happening many many years ago. Now I am engaged (to a 26 year old.. hehe) and planning on getting married May 30th. My life is going great which makes this even more hard to believe. Sorry for the long post, I just needed to get it out. Thanks for listening... or well reading. I have a question for you ladies. What really made your pregnancies "real" for you?

Hi Dr. Schulman I had a breast and arm lift done 3 weeks ago. For the most part I am healing wonderfully but one of my arms is still quite swollen. I seen my PS doc on tuesday and he didnt seem to concerned about it. Do you know of anything that might help the swelling go down quicker? Thank you Pam

Thank you MacMadame. I will do that soon as I can. I have to work tomorrow and have Jury duty tuesday (who knows how long or how many days that will take). I was also thinking that I have been drinking milk again after staying away from it since being banded. I need to do some research on what the symptoms of being lactose intolerant are. It is the only thing I can think of that i am doing differently. Thanks again

First a bit of back ground. I got the lapband in Aug 07 so I have had it for a while now and I have never had any problems before. But the last couple of weeks have been strange and Im not sure if it has to do with the band or not. It started with me having problems with acid reflux at night. I have never had a problem with it before, well not often enough to think about it. Also my last fill was in aug. 08 and everything went fine. The last week my stomach has been very sensative. It hurts at times after I eat and other times eating helps it. The pain I feel is more in my lower stomach than in the pouch created by the lapband. I have also been feeling warm (but havent run an temp) had slight headaches and been a little light headed. What really concerns me is I have lost 10 lbs in the last 2 weeks even though I havent been eating any less, other than the last two days. I dont know if I should check with my lapband Doc about how I have been feeling or if I should check with a regular doctor. I would love anyones thoughts or opinions. Thank you Pam

Hi Karen. In January I am going to have my arms and breasts lifted also. The scars worry me also but I figure that I would rather have the scars than have my arms look the way the do right now. Good luck in what ever you decide to do. Pam

Welcome back Dave and Pam. I too havent been around here much lately either. My weight loss has pretty much stopped but it is all my doing. Snacking too much and not exercising enough has its consequences. Many things have been going on lately, my bf proposed to me on my 40th birthday. I said yes of course :thumbup:. Soooo.... there will be lots of stress getting ready for the wedding, we plan to marry in May of 09. I am also scheduled for PS in Jan. Having an arm and breast lift, a couple things I feel safe having done before I reach my goal and it will help me look better in my wedding dress. Once the stress of planning a wedding is over, not to mention the holidays and the PS, I will be around here looking for that kick in the butt also to get myself moving toward my goal weight. I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving and has a merry christmas!! Pam

I am definitely getting implants. I have gone from a DD to a D cup and I know that after removing the excess skin that I might be lucky to be left with a C cup. I got use to having larger breasts and I am missing them, that and the fullness. Right now my breasts are puddling in my bras making it impossible to get decent cleavage. I describe the way they look in a bra like a puddle of water with a breeze blowing making ripples on the top. Not pretty. As for the final size my bf and I disagree, he would like to see a large DD or higher and Im thinking more about a large D. Men..... lol

I know I am usually pretty quiet in here but where did everyone else go? Its like a ghost town. I posted these on the main before and after thread so I thought I would post them here too. I got a new tattoo about 4 months ago. I have gone through a lot in the last 5 years and it is my way of commemorating how far I have come. 5 years ago I lost my husband to cancer and since then having to do things on my own, gaining more self confidence, a new love of my life and getting the lapband. Is it 5 butterflies the smallest (on my foot) has duller colors signifying where I started and the largest has the brightest colors. I do have to say that it is larger than I had wanted at first but now I love it.

Hi Dr. Shulman I have a couple questions. The first one I believe you have answered once or twice for other people. I am wondering when the best time to start looking into PS would be for me? I am at 275 right now and my goal weight is 220. The last 6 months I have been losing an average of 5 lbs a month. I have lost 110 lbs. I am hoping to have my arms, breasts and stomach taken care of. Also because of the fact my goal weight isnt as low as many people looking into PS would that have any affect on the doctors decision to do my surgeries or on how they would be done? I am a bit frustrated at the moment so I thought I would come here and do a little venting and hopefully get some helpful suggestions. First a little back ground. I moved here to Houston Texas almost 2 years ago from Michigan. While in Michigan I had BCBS as my insurance. I was paying a reasonable amount around $400 for it not being through a company. After moving to Texas I tried to switch over to BCBS of Texas. I was approved but the premium would have been around $1700 a month because of my weight which at that time was 385 lbs. There was no way I could afford that much. So now after losing 110 lbs I decided to try with BCBS again. I went online and began to fill out the online application and I couldnt even get it to go past my weight again. I am SOOO frustrated, I kept messing with the form and found that it would go through if I get down to 230 lbs. I guess it is only possible to be healthy at that weight and lower for someone that is 5'8". BCBS of Texas is so different than Michigan and I really dont want to be with a company with those kinds of views. I have been without coverage for too long and need to get in for my annual exams and routine tests. So anyway my question is.... Is there anyone here from Texas who has a health insurance company they would recommend? The main things I am looking for is a plan where I am not extremely limited on my choice of doctors and where I can get a plan that doesnt cost an arm and a leg. Any suggestions would help me narrow my choices down . Thank you

I have been a lurker lately, keeping an eye on everyone and their progress. Everyone is doing so well and I am jealous of those who have gone for plastic surgery already. I am really looking forward to the day when I can start looking into it for myself which I plan on doing after I lose about 35 more lbs. I havent been losing very quickly the last few months but I have still been happy because I am still losing. I went in for a fill just over a week ago (no more free fills after this month), boy did I forget what it was like to be really tight. No wonder my weight loss slowed down. Yesterday was my band anniversary, 110 lbs in a year who would have thunk it? Too all my fellow crazy ates.... Keep up the good work!!

The other day my boyfriend gets into my car and makes a comment about how close the seat was to the steering wheel. He asked me why because we had always had the seat in the same position, even though he is 4 inches taller than I am. Well my butt isnt as big as it use to be, so not only do I need to move the seat closer but I still have room between my belly and the steering wheel :thumbup:
