Time of the month during tt?
msraza1982 replied to JoannLz's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I work in surgery. Tons of people have surgery everyday while on their period, and the staff is used to real life issues. Just let the people in preop know and they will help you out. Good luck on you tummy tuck! -

I had surgery on 6/5/13 and two weeks later got extremely nauseated. Instead of calling my doctor I kept trying to deal with it on my own. A week later I was so sick I was in tears when I got to his office. I had gotten an ulcer in my esophagus that gave me a stricture. The doc said it was completely closed off. I was having egd's 2-3 times a week to keep reopening my esophagus. Eventually it did stay open but I had been sick so long my body kept rejecting any food or drinks. I stayed in the hospital for 9 days on tpn and came home on 4 nausea meds. I now am just using scope patches and marinol when needed. I am down 83lbs in less than 4 months. I am having another scope on Monday though because I am having pain and burning after eating. Doc thinks I have a ulcer in my pouch this time. All I know is that eventually everything will be normal... and I still would do it all over again

How about some NSVs!?!?

Lol was just getting on to post rhe same thing. Left work for surgery on June 5th wearing a 2x top and bottom. Went back to work this week and I'm wearing a medium top and bottom and they're almost too big. So thankful I Mmm work in surgery and they provide our scrubs, otherwise this could have been quite costly! -

HW 270 Before pre op diet 243 SW 225 LW 190 CW195 Gained 9 lbs on my 8 day stay in the hospital. ... I'm happy with where I'm at. Just glad to be getting small amounts of food and fluids in without an IV or PICC line. -

Excited to finally come home from the hospital today after 8 days. I had to have a picc line put in and 5 days of tpn, lots of potassium, and magnesium. Make sure if you guys know something is wrong to seek help from your doctor. I'm going home on 4 nausea meds, and am finally able to move to full liquids and I'm 7 weeks post op today.

Was admitted to the hospital today with possibility of a esophageal stent tomorrow. Dr said he injected steriods for all of the inflammation I had monday and he wanted me to have an upper GI to see if they'd done any good. I went down and drank the dye gagging the entire time, and it went down. Doctor says my stricture is good for now, but he thinks my body is trying to reject the new plumbing. Says it rarely happens and it can take up to 4 months to get better. I am constantly nauseated and dry heaving. He's going to try and get me on a good combination of meds before I go home. He said most likely I will lose all of my weight before my body settles down considering that I'm already down to 190. I'm just hoping to hold onto my sanity during this time. Cannot believe I had a stricture and now this... as if one wasn't enough. I'm supposed to stay on sugar free clears until further notice.

My stricture is still giving me trouble. I haven't been able to take in any fluids without throwing them up for almost 6 days. I have on the other hand been getting IV fluids every couple of days, but I am miserable. Yesterday I had my esophagus dilated again and injected with steroids and got absolutely no relief for the 1st time. Called my doctor am d be said it's so inflamed he's going to have to throw in the towel and finally put in a stent. Apparently they worry about them migrating and putting a hole in the esophagus. I have never been worried about any operation but this worries me. I think I'm mostly worried about the discomfort.

Call your doctor make sure you don't have a stricture. ... trust me better safe than sorry
