Anyone having surgery in May
paigelarson89 replied to Cupcake's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will all be worth it in the end. I had surgery September 16, 2013. Best discussion I ever made. Good luck. -
I was denied the first time my doctor sent in more information and my mom, physical therapist, doctor, and I wrote a letter to the insurance company and the clinic then sent everything in and was approved the second time. Don't give up. Appeal tell they approve you fight for your future, and your life.

Yes, if your a single mom find someone to take care of them tell you heal and have energy, because after surgery you won't be able to lift your baby or play with them. If you have a spouse have him take time off well your in the hospital and when you come home and he goes back to work have someone come over to help take care of the kids well your spouse is at work. Hope this helps. -

Me too. I finally have moved from in the twenties to the teens (18). I was so excited I couldn't believe it, and I went from 4x to anywhere from x large, large, or medium depending on the way they are made. -

I live in moorhead mn, which is next to Fargo nd. Struggling with eating unhealthy, drinking pop, and very low in protein. Back issues so need some ideas for some exercises low impact. Having back surgery trial, if it works they are inserting the device permanently. I also have mental health issues and having a hard time with symptoms. Help!!!! -

Live in a group home and have very verbal roommates and staff treat me like shit. Moving out soon but have had problems with my mental health, because of living in a bad environment -
Just last weekend falling down the stairs during a seizure. Can't work, see the doctor on Monday hoping I can go back to work and get a better brace the one they perscribed was a sleeve and loosing weight it became really big on me after a couple days
-
Its hard, because the place I live at pop is everywhere, but hopping moving out soon will be easier, because I will be buying the groceries and have a say what comes in and not the influence of not having roommates that are constantly bring pop in the house.
-
Have gotten of the wagon and started drinking pop again and having a hard time getting back on the right path. Also does anyone know of any exercises at the gym with an injured knee.
-
I have low potassium and I'm on the supplement and its back to normal. I've also stopped losing weight also. I injured my knee and don't know any exercise I can do at the gym

Approve For Tummy Tuck
paigelarson89 replied to Strong Motivated Sista's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also if you get rashes under the folds, and they become severe or any medical issues that are related from loose skin that are severe. Congrats on a year, and good luck with surgery. I've lost a hundred plus, but weighed more than you, but noticing the skin start to sag, which with my low self esteem, my stomach bothers me when I wear the size of jeans I currently in likes to fall out. So until I lost all my weight I'm buying a tummy control shaper until I can have my tummy tuck I get really bad rashes under the stomach from being overweight and loose skin, which it gets so severe it hurts, cracks open, and sometime bleeds. Which my doctor said insurance will cover, because of the rashes I get -
I have BCBS of MN I'm pretty sure they are all the same. Your right on BMI, but like one of them said if you have a BMI of 35 with underline medical issues. I had to have two years of medical records of dieting and of doctor appointments related to medical issues, because of weight. A evaluation of your mental state and readiness for surgery. Six months of dietary. Which some of this may very from state. It took a week to hear, but I checked up after that week and found out Iwas denied, because of how my evaluator worded the evaluation and recommendations she thought I was ready, but the way she worded the evaule made it sound like I wasn't ready, but went back, and she re edited it and a week later I was approved, and I had surgery September 16, 2013. Doing good, but lack of protein, because of never being hungry, skipping meals, and not being able to tolerate most meats. Thighs I can tolerate are dark meat, because of it being more moist, fish, and other protein I can eat are eggs, cheese, nuts, and my stomach can handle chilli even with cheese, homemade is the best, because you know what goes in it. Either the leanest beef or turkey depending on your preference, both are good and I really only can tolerate the meat is if its in something, but if you don't have ingredients or like I do even my mom does which she taught me was make a full batch, and freeze the rest, so if its cold or craving it you have some on hand. We both had weight loss surgery hers was the lap band and she had it long before I had mine. I don't live with my parents and my dad doesn't eat a lot either. We do it in a crockpot, and if you forgot to put everything in the crock pot before you leave for the day, stove is good to, and fast. When I make it I put it all together the night before and the next day I put it from the fridge to crock pot and put on low. If I'm going to be home in the morning, I still put it all together the night before, but cook the meat the day I'm going to cook it. If you can't do homemade, hormel makes some good chilli, and have a variety of different kinds, and sizes, depending on who all is eating. Good luck

Make sure to get protein in. I hardly can eat meat without getting sick fish and nuts are the only protein I can eat. When I look at Protein shakes I want to puck. With me not getting enough protein I've started drinking pop again, which the dietitian said was caused from low protein so its part me and part of having low protein. Trust me low protein you will start loosing your hair. I brush my hair wether dry or wet and chuncks come out. Good luck

It depends how much you weight. My highest weight when I started my. Journey was 360 pounds. I'm three months post op and since I started with the process I've lost over a hundred pounds losing sixty plus pounds after surgery. When I started working out my arms where the first to sag along with boobs, and now I see my stomach and thighs are starting to sag which is good, but I have really low self esteem, so I look at myself in the mirror and I'm disgusted with my stomach I just started to fit into 24's which fit but with the skin starting to sag my loose skin hangs over. I've decided to buy a tummy control wear. On the plus side my surgeon said with all the rashes I get under my stomach insurance is more likely to pay for my skin removal for my stomach. I also went from a 52ddd to a 46b to a 46c depending on material. The only thing I'm okay with right know is my bat wings on my upper arms.
