Dear IAMWORTHIT, Started a similar journal in the hospital since i didnt have my Android. I did a little reqasearch today and came across an app both for the PC and smart phone that came highly recommended by my nut. myfitnesspal.com loaded it on the pc and the smart phone , it syncs ever time you complete and entry. very complete record of the daily intake of everthing we need to know as RYNers check it out Im ditching my journal in favor of this, it gives reports progress , and best of all daily stats on all of your nutritional levels , protien, carbs, sugars, sodium potassium .. etc etc .. Im hooked .. suggest you give it a glance ... oh did I mention it FREE!! Cheers RJ -
Congratulations , Trust me if & when they let you walk, WALK!! I was walking the halls more than the doctors or nurses, It helped massivly with the reduction of the pain and alivated the boredom of a hospital room. DONT PUSH IT if you get tired rest. RJ

Liquids / protien shakes how much?
Weight Warrior posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Hey now, im 4 days post op and i am sticking to the program of the full liquid diet fot the next two weeks. my question is, if you are sipping Water consantly to get in your 64oz a day. and along comes lunch as an example, i stop sipping water and substitute my protien shakes wich is approx 8 to 12 oz. ......ive been trying to consume it at an even rate over the period of an hour? 1) is that too much shake? 2) is that ample time 3) does liquid pass quickly through the pouch 4) i have not had a full semsation yet is that normal. Just trying to adjust. i am committed to mot streching my pouch. i am meeting my protien , liquid and Vitamin requirements . just looking for some feed back RJ -
Questions on hospital stay
Weight Warrior replied to PittGuy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
pittguy, deaddemmamma is 100% correct, while this forum offer advice and personal experiences of an individuals treatment. ALWAYS follow your doctors instructions!! i was able to get some great advice from people on RNY TALK and it helped when i met with the surgeon to understand what i could expect, but he is the alpha and the Omega when it came down to what i am actually going to do. make sure you write down you list of questions so you are prepaired when you meet with your surgeon . he or she will be glad to answer all of your questios and or concerns fully. good luck RJ -

pittguy. only advise i can give you for sure is start know! read all the litature you can you tube videos provide lots of good info. start your vitiman, Fluid, exercise and portion control now!!! that way you will already be in the groove on the date of surgery. dont let the liquid phase freak you out. after the 3rd or fourth day it geys easier. just do ecavtly what they tell you to do and the results will come. Questions on hospital stay
Weight Warrior replied to PittGuy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pittguy, here is a breakdown of my stay in the hospital. With the exception of being fat im in overall good health. each persons stay will vary. 1. was in 3 days 2. private room ( standard practice for my surgeon) 3. tests-only had the leak test. and blood drawn once. 4. they check vitals ever 4 hours or so. the try to time it just before you nod off then only wake you once. 5. after the first two walks they left me alone. i was walking the halls on my own since i wanted out and i was somewhat hyper 6. nurse who gave all of my belly shots was skilled never felt them. 7. staff would pop their heads in every hour just to ask if i needed anything. besides that the gave me my privacy. to read watch tv etc. 8. not sure of the sleep over policy 9. very good with pain management. always responded within a minute or so. 10. Support...The Bryn Mawr Bariactric center was like have your own cheering section ...everyone in that center addressed me by my first name and encouraged me through every step. 11. they answered every question completly. 12. gave me a special pillow to use to bear down and support my mid section when getting up and down or rolling over. 13. meal trays were always on time! if you have ANY questions please ask i would be glad to tell you what ever i can about my experience. Hope this helps . im sure you will be fine.. What is your date? RJ -
J-la, no real mobility problems. a little slow getting in and out of a chair but if i do it slowly its ok. ok on all other fronts. walking has been a huge help on getting relief to th soreness issue. Dr & staff believe i have a very high pain threshold. in fact just lying on my stomach on the couch sending this to you ...all is ok no leakage at the incisions. also using that spiormeter plastic guage doo hickey tjay gave me is helpong with the tenderness issue and improving ability to take very deep breaths, coughing ( when necessary)

J-la, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!.....So happy for you, I had two shakes left over from the pre-op diet. those two sugar free popicles and 30 oz of Water over the coarse of today. things are moving in the right direction. how is you pain levels and mobility RJ

Had surgery on June 12th . feeling great all systems functioning normally. had some bloating and gas on friday but that passed in the morning ( no pun intended) . i have been walking my ass off since 6 hours after surgery an i have to say it has helped move things along. still have some minimal pain. but that seems to be lessing by the hour. Dr. Ing my surgeon has the touch. i have had dental work that has hurt more. I will follow the program and see him in two weeks. i feel like i could run a mile right now. hope each of the june people recover quickly. its a big world just waiting for us ! Rj
