AshleyMichelle, FYI. I have found that Vanilla protien powder, CVS sugarfee orange flavored fiber and a handful of frozen rasberries or blue berries. shredded and mixed in a blender is a flavorful drink. it has everything! RJ

Are you having some thing close to your bed time? it dose not have to be alot of food , preferably high protien . since your asleep for eight hours you need something light to get you throught the night . ( my personal opinion ) If it persists check with your surgeon RJ

Purplecarnation , I am in the same boat as you on the not having any feeling of fullness ( mine also is hunger ) my Surgeon said this is perfectly normal , They told me just make sure im measuring my fluid intake and one indicator if you are getting close ( over 2oz. ) is you will belch! Now that i measure all of my fluids I feel fine and somewhat in control of whats going on ! GAS ..Humm not sure about that, didnt have that issue , Ask your surgeon Constipated , I was told to add fiber to my meals to promote regularity ( it works ) but again, check with your surgeon Hope you feel better soon RJ

bjroberts, tried. 98 % fat free cream of chiken soup today, put it in a blender and added 1 scoop of unflavored protien powder (18 grams of protien) and a touch of ceyanne pepper for some zing! first of all it was excellent and secondly the protien powder made it thicker and did not effect the taste...this goes on my permant shopping list! oh and a tip i picked up from another RNY Talk member that really works is get some baby spoons. it defintly takes you longer to eat your soup! got ones that look cool they are called "Munchkins" 6 for $2.99 have a great evening RJ

Sip By Sip.....Take your time and "TRY" to get in all of you fluids and protien. while this is very important it may take you a day os too to get into the groove. be patient....this is s learning process im 8 days post-op and just learned last night that since the nerves in your pouch are not really active "yet"..... a good indicator of fullness is belching. just measure out your shakes, water etc. and just a sip or two then wait. my surgeon has in my pre op book i should be able to intake 6 oz of water per hour if i sip it.....check with you instructions/surgeon for their expectations.... good luck. keep us posted. RJ PS: WELCOME! to the other side

Socalma, Congratulations , You'll be fine , this is not the first time for your team and if you follow what instructions they give you post -op you will get through it . Just rember to walk walk walk when they allow you to it helps relieve the pain and works out the gas . Best of luck to you RJ Post -op 7 days

bjroberts417, I spoke to my NUT yesterday she said to stick with reality that I have a 2oz pouch and be mindful of the amount you drink and stretch out the time intervals between sips. From what i have read here and diffrent articles, the pouch has been tramatized by the surgery and is nor reporting back to the brain corectly ...YET!! so you may be full and since you pouch is not giving the correct sensory outputs it could be troublesome. The pouch will self correct this deficeny shortly but it needs time to heal That info alone stopped me and throttled back the way I was intaking fluids. it makes sense to me but, Im going to ask that question to my surgeon next thursday. until then.. sip sip sip .... Protien, water vitiamins .....sip sip sip .... exersice .....Protien, water vitiamins....exersice....sleep ! Regards The Incrediable Shrinking Man :-)

Lisa R, sounds like you are having the same results . made 800 calories today and drank at regular intervals but never a full or hungry sensation. im just going to measure everything and listen to my body. see my surgon on the 27th .....so far so good thanks for the input :-) RJ

thanks jeepchick42 its tough to quantify since i have no point of reference. i just follow my surgeons instructions. i guess when i make it to the pureed food stage the 2-4 tablespoon rule of thumb will make more sense.
