-
LMAO ..... Thanks its just very strange. Hope your well , Thanks for the laugh

First off let me be frank , this is a dumb question! but i am not sick , not allergic to anything and have sneezed maybe.... 5 times in the past year. over the past 2 days I have sneezed no less than 100 times. Has ANYONE experienced a change after surgery , like you are now allergic to something ??? its all over so its not one place and besides the RNY thing and exercise still do almost everything the same . any input ... ...and keep the laughter to a minimum.

Cyndi, im having those too. my team said the following. 1. Belching can be a sign of fullness.but if it persists to make an appointment. i started measuring my intake more closley ( no more than a 1/4 cup) and most of the burping has lessened. 2. back pain/ aches and pains are common. apparently as you loose weight quickly you frame is realigning itself to carry your weight properly. it will stop. but until then my team recommended Tylenol extra strength to help ( only Tylenol!!!!) Hope things work out. have a great day RJ

My surgical posse INSISTS on me getting between 80-100 grams per day , I average around 90. Just keep in mind protein will help heal you quicker. No matter how long it takes i DO IT ! and it has helped me . Ask you surgeon for alternatives, but my understanding is protein is key to your recovery and success of your journey Hope this helps , Have a great night . RJ

Congratulations, My only advice is don't think that taking the pain meds is a bad thing, they gave them to you for a reason , so you can relax and heal quicker. I'm so psyched for you, this is a journey worth taking , welcome to the forum! if you have any questions no matter what ....ASK!! all of your fellow members are an excellent resource. Just remember to use this as ADVICE , all surgeons have different approaches to this RNY surgery . your surgical posse is the alpha and omega when it comes to your recovery and treatment . ask them before doing anything that could effect your health Have a great day and again CONGRATULATIONS. Mel3620, You should be proud its a tough thing that you did. As a good friend of mine pointed out on the subject of addictions, and i paraphrase " you DON'T need Alcohol, tabacco,or illegal drugs to sustain your body, but food is the toughest addiction to break since you MUST eat" Im proud of your victory since i LOVE pizza but alas it is something i can no longer have. its one of my trigger foods. i would rather fit into the next size down the have a slice. Thanks gor the post...YOUR A SUPERSTAR!!! have a great weekend RJ

Hell yea ! I read ever label like it were instructions on how to defuse a bomb. I take no chances. start out small and if it works for you try variations on the theme. If eggs work than run with it . etc etc ... Here is a word of caution on something I experienced yesterday . While leaving the market I realized I had run out of precious H2O so this store only had cold sodas and crap like that NO COLD WATER !! So I saw in the distance a case with cold "Natural " protein drinks after a half hour of reading all of the labels I found what i had believed to be the perfect drink. it met all of the criteria less than 5 on fats 23 on protein 15 on carbs and it was ODEWALLA pineapple, coconut, mango ... I was in heaven!!! ....... NOT!! it was all listed in percents not in grams .... grams were there but in teeny tiny print. of course I found this out after 3 sips ( it was just too damn sweet ) And since I had just jumped on the trolley , I rendered the return policy null and void .. SON OF A B .... $3.95 down the drain, literately Morel to this story: KNOW the difference between percentage and Grams OH well live and learn that's what this journey is all about . Catch ya in the funny papers RJ

OK here is what i tried today and it was OHHH so tasty!! Vegetarian re-fried beans. No fat sour cream Louisiana hot sauce.( Me Likee hot stuff , But just a touch i'm only brave to a point! ) Fresh made salsa 1 scoop of non flavored protein powder ( 18 grams of protien ) and a touch of water to balance out the powder Sick it the blender for 15 seconds and voila! creamy spicy tangy goodness. Its been 2 hours and no bad side effects yet.... FYI I have been very lucky no problems with anything I have eaten/drank I guess God gave me a free pass so far ,but im sticking to the plan TTFN RJ

Dearest ABA9903, Thanks for that response, I am touched you enjoy reading my posts . I stay positive because I have a great personal support system between family, friends and co-workers. The one thing with the program at Bryn Mawr is that it is very concise and they prepare you both mentally and physically for this journey. A visit to my surgeon is like a pep talk and all the members of his team are like my own personal cheering squad!, seriously I have NEVER had a bad visit. And the Bariactric Center in the hospital was awesome, when you walk down the halls ever Nurse, technician, orderly, doctor , Admin personnel cheer you on, its great ! I believe that if all of us try to just go out of our way and spend two minutes to be nice to someone who is have a bad go at it on that particular day , the world would be such a better place to live. I truly hope and know in my heart that if you are on this site posting some good will come out of it for all of us . there are so many people who have helped me with words of encouragement or great suggestions. I just want to pass it on in the hope the next person will do the same. Thanks again, Have a great day Peace out RJ
