You can do this. we have to live in this world of sugar and what sounds like some good ol stick to your ribs cooking. just keep your goal in mind the feeling you will have when you hit yoir goal weight will be sweeter than 10 thousand caramel apple cakes. Go out for a walk around the block , shake it out ...... RJ

Protein Shakes after WLS?...
Weight Warrior replied to Lovelycurves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
its closer to a flavored water , you can see through it, I cut mine with cold water its kinda sweet but no problems with it. only $1.59 at my local target. Since i commute to work its all about being portable so between the G3, my protien powder shake and a luna lemon twist protien bar im set for each. 8 hour work day. I get. 55 grams of protien at work between the three during the course of the day. if you include my breakfast and dinner i get close too 100 grams of Protien a day RJ -

Sara Beth, Thanks!, Thought they were the same thing .... Do you know the difference? I'm just concerned about the fat content. I have never been a big cheese eater but i do love feta cheese on everything , do they have Feta cheese ? RJ

Protein Shakes after WLS?...
Weight Warrior replied to Lovelycurves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Miss Wifey 21, Welcome to the other side , hope your recovery is quick In answer to your questions my experience with protien shakes or protien in general is as follows . 1) vitacost.com is the site i get all of my supplied there. also Vitacost brands are excellent , Delivery to The Philadelphia area is approx 4 day. I buy the vanilla for my breakfast and lunch shakes . The unflavored protien comes in handy during the pureed and full foods phases. you can add it to almost anything. 4) I have added plain Greek yogurt to my shakes from day 1 ...18 Grams of protien is excellent . Just keep in mind your body can only absorb 30 grams of protien at one meal , so don't waste your money or effort try to get more that that at one time 2) G3 Gatorade is high in protien and is good later on for the pureed phase and everything after that ( My NUT recommended this ) 3) My NUT recommended unjury.com . I just have not tried there stuff but she raves about it. 4) The unflavored can be added to anything and i find it very useful in meeting my daily numbers . 5) the most important one is sugar free Popsicles to be more specific the Tropical flavored ones are off the hook AWESOME 15 calories a pieces . you will never look at Popsicles the same way again . They are also very helpful in fighting HEAD hunger . Also they do count towards you Fluid requirements . 6.) my personal experience is that all of the pre-made shakes are high in sugars or fats, I personally don't want to run the riisk of DUMPING . I have had several experiences with things getting stuck and that was enough for me . I would suggest you do what i have done get 2 shaker/blender bottles , They cost 5 buck a piece on Amazon , Leave one at work and bring a baggie of your protien mix to work with you . I always add Vanilla protien powder & citricel orange flavored Fiber mix and blend ... instant creamcicle taste Not sure if you are aware of this but add fiber to your shakes , this will help to keep you regular , and that is very important . I hope some of this helps . Its a tough choice we have made but trust me it is well worth it . I do suggest you contact your surgeon before you try anything anyone suggests on this forum ( including me ) .. no one here knows your case and you want to be sure it is reviewed. Best of luck , I'm sure you will be awesome at rockin' the weight loss Have a great day RJ -
Thanks everyone for the kind words and support. you are the best!! i can see the pot at the end of the rainbow, its a way off and filled with a rasberry protien shake but im going to make it and bask in my healthy body! wow that kinda sounds dirty...oh well :-) have a great day. RJ

Sooooooo. I did get an answer to my Salad, bread, and fruit issue . My Surgeon, who is awesome and i totally respect gave me this concise and simple response to my query " Stop it ".... Needless to say he has a dry sense of humor . he explained that its just the normal noises of the body adjusting to the new plumbing. I need to wait several weeks and try introducing it into the rotation again. Apparently every one has there own issues but they all work back into your diet eventually. Oh, and im officially down 103 Lbs ... this is a very good day! RJ

Actually im right with all of you on the daily sugars, fats etc. read labels and follow the program.like its my new religion. and hit all my daily numbers For the most part im ok 95% of the time with everything ive prepared. It is the great unknow that seems to come completly out of left field that gets me. My list of things so far is short. hopefully it will stay that way * fresh seedless watermelon * 98% FAT FREE chicken soup( strained) * Whole wheat toast ( 1/8 of a slice) * Salad ....( this one is upsetting) * Carb balanced soft tortillas Still Grinin' and Thinin'.....

Sorry RNY forum for my discriptive rant! Ran in from work and trying to do many things at once and ended up getting part of the begining of my dinner stuck.....scratch one dinner and have been sick for two hours. laying down starting to feel normal slowly. This sucks! they could never prepare you for learning to completly relearn how to eat. i feel like ..... an infant..... a very large infant... :-). things will be so much better in the AM......come on Thursday!!!!!
