Best. Of luck with the surgery . Just be prepared mentally for what's coming. The physical aspect of the journey is easier than the mental reconditioning of a life time of learned bad habits...in my humble opinion. STAY FOCUSED ON THE PRIZE ....it is so worth it. Your life completely changes for the positive if you truly are committed to being successful. If you ever need us we are just a post away :-) The liquid diet is not for the faint of heart. Just don't cheat and you will get past it. Anyone can do anything necessary for two quick weeks when the reward is SO GREAT.. Have a great day! RJ

So i got very brave today and purchased a digital bathroom scale to help me better measure my progress and keep me focused . I promised myself a week or bi-weekly weigh in so i don't drive myself into a obsessive compulsive tailspin. Fortunately for me i threw caution to the wind and hopped on the scale (Please note this has been my mortal enemy for decades) and to my surprise i am down another 18 lbs! Yipee . This puts me ahead of my goal to be in the 200"s for Thanksgiving. As of today's glorious date i am down a total of 145 lbs since i started this program 1 year ago At this rate i should be ( God willing and the Creek don't rise ) at my goal weight of 180 Lbs by May of 2014. Thanks you God for letting me find Dr.Richard Ing and the entire team at The Bryn Mawr Hospitals Bariactric center. . Hope everyone is have a Beautiful Sunday. RJ

Dec 2nd come so quickly!!!! take this time to change you eating habits and get into your " zone"you need to be mentally prepared for whats about to start. While not going to excess you may want to get together a bucket list of foods you may never be able to eat again if you are having the RNY. dont go crazy with the portions but this also let you say goodbye to the old you and your favorites..... the only one i forgot was Birthday cake...... If i can answer any question i will try to help. Have a great day RJ -

CJ S Journey. I am sorry to hear about your loss. You are correct this is the best gift you will ever give yourself. This site is has an excellent support group around the country. if you cant sleep and want to get something off your chest or need advice there is almost always someone on line and willing to help. Best luck on your surgery and your journey. my only advice is eat wisely, healthy, hydrate, exercise, and dont weight yourself every day youll drive yourself crazy. RJ -

Im by no means vain, but has anyone else noticed that since the RNY a drastic increase in grey hair? for 5 years prior to surgey i have had a small wisp of grey hair in the front of my hairline and it was kinda cool looking. Today i seriously noticed it looks like i painted a grey room with out a hat. Anyone else experiencing this? RJ
