"Ban The Band" campaign - stop unecessary deaths & harm
TOOSLOW replied to Band2Sleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'd join. Where do we sign up. If anyone starts a class action suite against the Lapband I hope it gets posted here so we can all join!!!! I had my band put in in 2007 and had little success with it. Lost only 30 pounds. In 2013 started having really bad chest pains. Started taking acid reflux meds and had a EGD test done and discovered my band was too tight and had food blocked in it for months and my esophagitis. Esophgus was enlarged and dilated.. had my band removed on March 11 2014 and sleeved in the same surgery.. Best decision I've ever made. Have lost 18 pounds already. Im ready for a class action suite against the Lap Band..maybe we can all get some money out of it for failing us all -

Oh yes the stitch in my right side!!! Please go away. It hurts to laugh, sneeze, move and sit in a chair at work for 8 hours. Other than that I'm doing great. -
I had this problem too. It was the Dilaudid pain med. My doc gave me steriod meds to take. The itching on the palm of my hands and the bottom of my feet was the worst. It was an itch you just can't scratch. I was taking benidryl but that didn't help

I got my approval on Monday February 24th. Surgery scheduled for March 11th. I can't wait. I'm so excited!! I got banded in 2007 and am having a revision to Sleeve.

Poll: Do you miss diet soda?
TOOSLOW replied to Anyalee's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I Was A Diet Pepsi Drinker. I Dont Miss It At All. My Husband Bought Me A Case Of 24 Oz Bottles 3 Weeks Before My Surgery Last January 2007 And There Is Still 2 Six Packs Of It Sitting There. I Drink Maybe 1 Diet Pepsi A Month . I Drink Crystal Lite And Water Now. -

I Was Bp'ing 3 To 4 Times A Day After My Last Fill In September. I Lost 10 Pounds In October And Haven't Lost Anything Since. I Started Have Night Cough, Couldn't Keep Anything Down, Was Eating Mushies And All Soft Foods And Of Course You Know Sweets Are Easy To Get Down. I Went Back To My Doctor In December To Get A Slight Unfill Cause I Was Too Tight. A Week Later I Went Back To Get A Small Fill Cause I Was Eating Too Much With The Unfill, Doctor Said He Didn't Take Out That Much. I Told Him To Put Some Back Cause I Was Able To Eat And Drink At The Same Time And That Was A No-no. So For The Past 2 Weeks I Haven't Bp'd At All And Have Lost 4 Pounds. So If You'r Bp'ing Alot You May Need An Unfill. It Wasn't Pretty To Have To Go To The Bathroom And Throw Up After Every Thing You Ate And That's What I Was Doing. I Feel Alot Better Now Especially Now That I'm Losing Again.

Hello Mollybrown, Yes That Is Why I Picked That Name Because In The Beginning I Felt I Was Losing Slowly. But I've Now Had 4 Fills And Have Great Restriction.. And Am Not Losing About 1-2 Pounds A Week. No I Dont Follow The Plan Exactly Like I Should. I Didnt Have To Do The liquid Diet First. I Am A Sweets Eater So I Have A Hard Time Not Eating Sweets And Because They Go Down So Much Easier Than Real food. I Can Preety Much Eat Anything I Want With Lots, and Lots Of Chewing. I Have Trouble Eating Pork And Beef Unless It Is Ground Up. I Haven't Had A Hamburger In So Long. But I Dont Miss It. I've Only Been To One Support Group But Didnt Find It Very Helpful. They Didnt Discuss The Issues I Was Haveing. I Went To The Support Meeting Before My First Fill And Noone Talked About How Hungry They Were. So I Thought I Must Have Been The Only One Feeling Like That And I Found The Meetings Boring And More Talk About The Gastric Than The Lapband. Since My Last Fill In July I've Lost 22 Pounds. So I Feel Like I Big Loser Now. :car: (meaning Losing The Weight Good) . I Can Now Eat What I Want But Only Small Portions Cause I'm Not Hungry Which Is All We All Ever Wanted. To Not Feel Hungy. And I Have That Now. I Love My Band And Would Do It Again In A Heartbeat. Good Luck...and Welcome To Bandland...i'm In Onderland For The First Time In I Dont Know How Long. And Still Going Down. I Started At 232 Pounds And Now At 189 And Counting! -

Hello MollyBrown, I had my surgery with Dr. Singh in January. I love him. He is a great doctor. I've never had any problems getting fills when I needed them or had any problems getting appointments. Any time I have had a fill and he always tells me if I don't feel any restriction come back in two weeks. Good luck and welcome to LBT.. -
You Are Right About That. I Can Still Eat Lots Of Junk Food. I Have Great Restriction On Protein And Veggies. But On Junk Food, Forget It. I Find I Still Want It And Can Eat Lots Of It.

Hello...i Was Starving In The Liquid Phase. I Had To Have Something To Eat After The First Week And Soft Scrambled An Egg With Cheese. It Was The Best Egg I Have Ever Eaten. Don't Eat Any Meats Right Now. You May Think You Dont Have Any Restriction Until You Eat A Piece Of Meat. I Told Myself I Could Eat A Small Bite Of Pork In The Liquid Phase And Thought I Would Die When It Got Stuck. It Was The Worst Feeling I Have Ever Felt. I Had My Surgery On Jan 30, 2007 And Have Had 3 Fills And Finally Feel Lots Of Restriction Now. I've Lost 36 Pounds And Counting. So Hang In There. It Does Get Better.

Help! I cheated today during post op...
TOOSLOW replied to Susan70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I Was The Same Way. I Was Banded Jan 2007 And Was Sooooo Hungry About A Week After Surgery And Had To Chew Something. I Soft Scrambled An Egg With Cheese And It Was The Best Scrambled Egg I Had Ever Eaten. I Didnt Have Any Problems With Band Slippage. But Hang It There. It Does Get Better. And You Wont Really Feel Any Restriction Till You Get A Fill. And Maybe Not Then Either. I Didnt Feel Any Real Restriction Til My 3rd Fill. And I've Lost 11 Pounds Since My Third Fill. I Had That Fill July 19th. I've Lost A Total Of 33 Pounds Now.
