Way to go RJ!!! It's achieving those goals that make all that we have to do worthwhile. Carol PS... Wearing purple today to celebrate a rare Vikings win! Thanks!!
-
AMAZING!!! Congratulations on the success!
-
Hey! Don't be so hard on yourself! You have done a lot of things right. You kept up your food journal - I think that is going to be key to success for any of us. You didn't just bury your head in the sand and ignore it, you looked at the data and figured out what was going on. You might have stalled on losing, but you didn't wait for the scale to go up. I would bet in the past it would have taken a lot more than three short weeks to realize something was wrong. Now you know you need to get back on track, you have the tools to know how to do that. Reaching out to us for support is one of those tools. We are here for you! Here's to a great loss next week!!

I couldn't agree with you more!! I have three pounds to go until I hit 100 pounds since surgery. When I hit, it will be 139 pound weight loss since April. I said in my Christmas letter this year that for the first time I really feel like I have the tools to make this work. That feeling is SO liberating!!

OOPS!!! Meant to post this to the previous post. Kristi, I know your doing GREAT too!
-
Hey Kristi! You look magnificent! I know that how we feel is even more important. I was just a day behind you, June 25th. I made it to ONEderland over Thanksgiving weekend, a major milestone. I still have about 50 pounds to go, but know I will get there too. Keep up the great work! Carol

Well that makes a bit more sense. And you learned one thing you can't eat! This journey has many lessons.
-
Did they have syrup and or butter on them? I wouldn't have thought just a bite of pancake by itself could hurt either!
-
That makes fighting all that head hunger worth it!!
-
WOW!!! Look at you! You look AMAZING and I bet you feel amazing too (for me that's the best part). Thank you for the kind words. You will be in ONEderland before you know it! Carol

I AM IN ONEDERLAND!!!! I had to go through two Thanksgivings. One I cooked on Thursday and one I attended yesterday. I stuck with my plan and this morning I was down over 2 pounds! Putting me at 198.2!! My original goal was to be here for New Years, I am so excited to be here now!!
-
I too enjoyed my meal very much. I ate my breakfast this morning and then had lunch / dinner combo. I had 6 oz of Turkey, and one tablespoon each of dressing and mashed potatoes. I enjoyed a sliver of pumpkin pie. I hit my protein goal and got all my water in. Unfortunately, I have to do it all again tomorrow!
-
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! I am so thankful for where I am in my journey and for my new life. The next two days will be a challenge for me. I feel like I am prepared for it. I will let you know how it goes on the other side!

Why Did You Choose Rny And Not The Band?
Baconville replied to Boobear7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My bariatric doctor said that for every one band they were putting on they were taking two off due to complications. RNY is the standard, it has been around for decades. I have absolutely no complications, I couldn't be happier with my decision. -
YOU GO RJ!!

Beautiful posts! We all have such to be thankful for!! It's nice to see the posts!

Glad you found us! Welcome back!! I am happy to be seeing all the familiar names again!!

I have been switching up my workouts. Weight work one day aerobics the next, a combo the next day. It seems to be keeping the scale moving. I know a lot of people get stuck at 200, I am hoping to avoid that. I have seen the scale slow down a lot. I hope that this is the week you see the scale move! Think what a great Thanksgiving gift that would be!!
-
Great post Kristi! Thanks for getting in the spirit!! I am looking forward to Christmas in ONEderland. I only have 3 pounds to go. Had hoped to make it for Thanksgiving, but I think it will happen the first week on December.

I have followed my clinics plan to the letter. This is what they recommend... 0-3 months 50 grams of Protein 3-4 months 60 grams of protein 4-5 months 70 grams of protein 5-6 months 80 grams of protein 6 months and beyond, at least 80 grams per day. I will be at 5 months tomorrow. For the past few weeks, my protein is between 70 and 75 grams each day. Over the next month I will bump that up about another 10 grams. I have NEVER missed a day of Vitamins. As I said in previous posts, I knew I would loose some hair, I just didn't expect to go totally bald.
-
I have always had very thick hair, and for the past several years it has been naturally curly. I may have been fat, but my hair looked nice. I never imagined that I could lose all of it. I knew it would thin some, but I actually have large spots in the front were all the hair is gone. I know I will continue to lose it for the next several months. It is very likely that I could be bald. I don't need it to be thick and curly, but could I just keep a little?! It's very hard to watch it happen and know there is really not much you can do about it.
-
CONGRATS!! Those milestones are hard fought and worthy of a celebration!!
-
I too am really experiencing a lot of hair loss. It began at 4 months. I am losing it so quickly that I am afraid I will be bald by Christmas. I will be five months on November 25th. My hair dresser suggested a product line called Awaken. Very expensive, but we will see if it helps. I began 5,000 mcg of Biotin when I first noticed the hair loss begin. But this morning I lost a good handful of hair. Heartbreaking!! I love the weight loss, but I love my hair too... Carol

Nice to see familiar names coming back! Since Thanksgiving is approaching I thought I would throw out that we should look for the top five things we are thankful for. After all, the day is suppose to be about giving THANKS, not FOOD. So, instead of your top 5 favorite foods, let's think about being thankful. Here are mine... 1. My wonderful, supportive family & friends 2. A job that I love 3. The talented professionals at my bariatric clinic 4. Knees that don't ache anymore, with the loss of nearly 130 pounds 5. This fantastic supportive community that has been there for me every step of the way! No amount of Turkey, dressing or pumpkin pie beats that list!! Carol

CONGRATULATIONS!! It is really an awesome feeling!! It makes all the hard work worth it! Keep on keeping on!
