melhealthy replied to Amanda R's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh ok. My doctor just had them covered with a liquid bandaid and when the bandaid washed off I was done. They closed on there on. -

The day before my liver shrink diet was Easter Sunday. I had all my old favorites. I started liver shrink on a Monday and followed it as stayed and lost 16 pounds. I'm almost six months out and follow the plan. So far so good down 82 pounds! -
When did you get your stitches out
melhealthy replied to Amanda R's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have any stitches. I had a drain that I had taken out after 1 week. What type of stitches do you have? -
Weight loss stopped
melhealthy replied to Yennydayerman's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It's very normal to stall at the point where you are. I stalled also and even gained weight. I thought I was going to be the one the surgery didn't work for. I am now one week shy of six months and I'm down 82 pounds. I started at 268.5. My hardest stall weeks were through week 6-12. After that my body started adjusting and so far I lose between 1.5 -3 pounds a week. Any loss is good. Just follow your doctors plan and the weight will fall off! -

I can eat white rice and pasta with no problems. I just tried pasta last weekend. I'm almost six months out. I am going to try to limit rice and pasta to maybe a couple times a year.

So excited and proud of myself! I ran my first 5k today! My goal was to run it in 45 minutes! I beat my goal and did it in 42:05 minutes!! Feeling on top of the world! Amazing what you can do when you drop 75.5 pounds!

I joined a 5k training program. We had a group run on Mondays and ran on our own two additional nights a week. The class was 9 weeks and the graduation was a 5k race. The couch to 5k apps you can get on your smart phone are great also. I joined the training group because I liked that it had a race at the end of the program. I've attached a picture of me with my completion medal! It was such an amazing feeling to complete the race!
