  1. Dont worry, the pain does go away. In about 3 weeks I was pain free. Im just frusterated with hitting a plataue. I know it will go away soon, but I sooo want to be down 50lbs by july!
  2. Ok,. 6 weeks down. Im technically down 29 lbs. But I did lose 36 (I gained in the hospita 7 lbs due to all the fluids) Overall I think Im doing good, but I am having some issues. The first week, I was only a little naseaus. I had that pain on the left side, and My shoulder killed. I was trying hard to get my protein shakes in. I managed, though I was coming up short. The second week, all the weird pains went, and I continued getting my shakes in. I never hit the goal, but I was doing ok. By week 3. I moved on to some mush food, like tuna. I can get that down with ease. Week 4, Constipation sunk in. Which could have been my fault. I was not taking a stool softner like I was told. I started with miralax, and about 5 days later, I had a Green Movement. I stopped taking miralaz, since Ive been having movements everyother day. The only issue is, Every movement I have is green. Im starting to get worried about 2 weeks of greem BMs. Week 5, I noticed I get this sharp pain in my back, near the kidney. I am wondering id this is because Im in Ketosis. It usually goes away in about a min. I have mo pain when I urine. I think Im urining enough. I was also told my breath smells bad. Week 6 (we had a heat wave where we live) Over the weekend, I was getting a good amount of water in, but I know I wasnt hitting the goals. I was getting super dizzy when I would stand up. But all and all, I think Im doing ok. I still didnt lose a size yet, which is frusterating. I am doing better at remembering to get my vitamins in. Im not hungry, but I know I have to start trying tougher to eat foods. Ive been eating scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, a slice of wheat toast, a few wheat thins, chicken salad and egg salad (with issues) I think this wed, Im going to venture and try a hamburger patty. Hope you are all doing ok
  3. Finally Had a Movement. It wasnt Painful, I did have to stran but it wasnt horrible. It wasnt a total lot. I was excepting to have a large, painful, lost 2 pounds kinda experiance, but It was actually normal. Though it was Greenish in color. Better then black I suppose.
  4. I do plan on going back the gym ASAP. 2 years ago I was in the gym, and lost at least 2 dress sizes by working out. I also want to join a ymca. OR some type of public pool in The RI area. I think a combo of swimming and cardio/weght lifting will help
  5. I'm starting to get a little nervous about extra skin. I had surgery 3 weeks ago. I lost 30lbs. The same outfit I wore to the hospital for surgery still feels the same. I lost weight 2 times before, and I fear since I was heavy my whole life, my extra skin is "thick" When I was 22, I lost 100lbs fast, doing atkins. I went from a size 24 down to a 16. I was 280 lbs down to 180. All the extra skin I have a I think is thick, meaning even if I lose 100 lbs, I wont ever go below a size 16. Even last year when I still had my lapband, and was working out, I couldnt go past 230lbs, and a size 16. I was hoping at least with a 30 pound weight loss to see some type of results in my clothes. I know everyone has extra skin, and there isnt much other then surgery to solve the issue. I was just wondering how much extra skin someone can have? Is it possible to have a very low amount of fat, but still have a high BMI or still wear plus size clothing due to this extra weight. (for the record My highest weight was 360 lbs for 2 years prior to my lapband)
  6. OK, gross, But Since Thursday Of last week, I've been constipated. I had surgery on April 29 of this year. I was having bm at least every other day. I wasnt aware I had to take a stool softner, so On friday of last week I started Miralax once a day. I still havent had a movement. I have been getting cramps (at times they kinda hurt, but nothing severe), but I dont know if they are "recovery" pangs or "that time of the month" or just constipation cramps. I even got desperate today and had about 5 sips of black ice coffee. Coffee was always a triggor for me to have a bm before surgery. Im eating for breakfast a half a cup of cottage cheese, for lunch half a cup of tuna, for dinner half a cup of egg salad. I was drinking protein shakes, but ran out and Im waiting for some to be delivered to me ( I dont live near alot of places that have the ones I like) Im drinking a lot, but I do admit Im falling shy of the 64 oz, Maybe Im coming in at 50. Im just worried since I've been on a stool softner for 4 days, and still nothing. Should I contact My surgeon? Suggestions
  7. I'm glad to have found this site. I too am in a similar situation. I had the lapband removale/by pass surgery on April 29. So today is the 2 week anniversary. The first few days, I felt pretty good. (except for the Arm gas pain) It lasted about 9 days. It sucked, but I knew it would pass. The first week, I was trying my hardest to get water and protein shakes in. I was doing, mostly ok. I dont think I ever met my goal, but I was coming pretty close. A few days ago, My left side hurt. It was sharp, but I looked online, and when I read its normal, I felt better. I moved onto harder liquids on day 10. I seem to tolerate greek yogurt, cottage cheese rather well. All in all I was doing ok. As of Last night, I was nauseas. Today, all day, same thing. I never vomited once, but felt like I was about to. I think it was a little bit of constipation. My stool seems ok, not dark or bloody. I do get to see my dr on thursday for my first check up, and I will make sure I let her know of the little problems I have been having. I do think, Im partly dehydrated. My tounge today was white, and very dry feeling. So I will try much harder to reach those goals.
  8. I live In RI, I had my surgery 2 weeks ago (apr 29) at Roger williams. I had 3 surgeries there in fact. I had my gallbladder, Lap band, and then the band removal to bypass. I have Dr Giovanni.
  9. Im Jen. I had the band on halloween in 2009. I did lose weight the first 3 months, thanks to the liquid diet. ABout 60 lbs. Then I stalled, for a Year. I never really felt full. In 2011, I did Atkins, and lost about 60 more lbs. I was eating a good amount of food, but all atkins-based. So At my heaviest I was 370, and at the lowest I was 240. Then since july of 2012, (had stress, mother passed, breakup, etc) crept back up to 300 lbs by the time I had the band removed and the bypass done...on April 29 2013. I dont miss the band. But, The recovery was sooooo easier then the bypass. I am on week 2, and I still feel pain at time, and stomach aches...But I gotta admit, I have no Hunger. I am down 16lbs so far. Glad I found this site, because I have alot of wuestions about living as a gp individuial, and will answer any questions about the band.
