Hi leowife92 How you doing now ? Do you still feel as though you eating too much? My weight has started to come off now, really need to stop weighing myself everyday though. I am supposed to eat 6 small meals a day and at least two litres of fluids. Trying to space it out is a bit of a nightmare though as not supposed to drink half hour before and half hour after meals! That is quite difficult for me as always had a can of diet coke or a cup of tea/coffee on the go!

No, that's fine. You can send me a private message xx

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can eat anything and have no problem! Was beginning to feel a freak! I had my surgery 28th May. All went well with no issues and was allowed home 3 days later. I feel as though I could eat soup and yogurt until the cows come home! Have spoken to the bariatric nurse who oversees me, as in the uk. She said it takes a while for your body to catch up with what you have had done and sloppy foods will go down easier. She suggested that I try a slice of toast if I am really worried and see what I feel like, just make sure I chew it well. Well, so glad I did. Was not even able to eat a whole slice of toast before I felt full up and unable to eat another bite. So that has put my mind at rest and now I know they actually did something to me when I was out, as was beginning to wonder! Lol. My weight loss has also been slow so that hasn't been helping my mood, but it seems to be moving now. The being full will come, we just need to be patient. However, I've never been a patient patient so that is hard for me! Xx

Hi Janel I haven't got a message that I can tell! But that might just be me :-) feeling ok, still feel as though I am bruised inside every now and again. Still bit concerned over feeling hungry and the fact that I could eat a whole plate of food! Haven't tried though, so guess that's a good thing. Went for a trip earlier, and walked around costco then had to have a lie down this afternoon. Had a bout of diarrhoea while in Costco and had to run to the bathroom. First time that has happened! Finally lost 2lb today, so hoping things have started moving now going to keep everything crossed! How you doing ? Feeling any better now? Hope your doing ok, how is your weight loss going? Bx

No weight loss for a few days, am back to what I was prior to surgery, so think I've only got rid of all the fluids I had pumped into me. What I am really worried about though is not feeling full up? I'm sure I could eat a proper size portion if it was placed in front of me. I haven't tried though and am sticking to the soft foods in small portions. Still got some pain to my right side, which just feels like a stitch at times and bruised. No pain on my left side at all. I am gurgling well though, after fluids and food just concerned about appetite. Has anyone else felt like they haven't had anything done? My surgery was 28th May. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as am getting worried and scared that this wont help me loose weight either! Thanks Bx

Sorry your still in pain. I'm still taking the pain meds. Only feel like I've done 500 sit ups now! Am allowed to take my dressings off tomorrow and see what they look like. Think they should be ok as they don't appear to be leaking. Also, my nurse is phoning tomorrow. I've been more sleepy today than all over the weekend, perhaps it's because everyone has gone back to work today and I've been on my own most of the day. I'm having Weetabix for breakfast, mashed potato with grated cheese for lunch and soup and yogurt for tea. Sometimes I think I'm hungry, but I have a drink and the feeling goes away! Bx

Hi tinyt You surgery was the same day as me. How you finding it so far? The weird taste is strange, gargle with listerine, brush teeth and tongue but nothing seems to work and it just keeps coming back..... :-( Sometimes I feel as though they didn't do anything while I was under as occasionally feel like raiding the cupboards and eat everything going, I haven't though so suppose that is a good thing! Not quite sure when I am hungry for real or I am just having cravings to chew something!, not had any nausea and can seem to keep everything down ! Wasn't expecting to feel hungry and now wondering if I will loose all my weight, wasn't expecting to feel like this only 6 days out........

Scared I wont lose all my excess weight :(

I'm 6 days post op and beginning to feel like this already. Not sure why! Sometimes I think I'm hungry and could go and raid the cupboards and just eat and eat. Havent done, which is a bonus i suppose. How do you know if your really hungry or its just brain hunger and not actual hunger? Not feeling too bad, slight stitch like feeling in my right side today but apart from that, haven't been nauseas or anything. Sometimes find myself wondering if they actually did anything when I was under!!!! Wasn't expecting to feel like this at all....... -
Hello. That sounds normal, I feel as though I have done too many sit ups and pulled muscles I didn't know I had! Had trouble sleeping last night too as couldn't get comfy. I've not had a bowel movement since before the op and I'm sure that is not helping. Was told not to strain so am petrified of going now! Was also told to be prepared to have blood in stools but not to panic as this is normal........well as normal as it can be I suppose! Do keep forgetting I've just had surgery and want to get up and do housework, ironing etc as Daryn just doesn't do it right, he hung some washing on the airer last night, I took one look at it and had to walk out the room as it was just so wrong! Do appreciate his help though so can't say anything. Think I must have some sort of OCD when it comes to housework and keeping things tidy and in the right place!

Ok, came home today after having surgery on Tuesday. I've put weight on! Wasn't executing that at all as will nil by mouth for two days and only been on clear liquids since yesterday. Did anyone else put weight on whilst in hospital ????

Thank you! Xx

Hi Janel129 I had my bypass on Tuesday too, discharged home today with soluble pain meds. Still in some pain and not had a bm yet, which might not be helping matters. You at home yet?

I'm from England, excuse my ignorance but what is a peacock? We don't have that terminology over here for clothes. Thanks.

Two days post op and still in hospital. Hopefully allowed home tomorrow. Had drain and drip removed today, can't believe the length of the drain! Can see why that hurt more than the incisions for the bypass!! Have got a slight temperature and blood pressure is lower than normal, normally have low blood pressure but this is a tad to low for their liking so need to try and get it up...... Had a shower today and feeling much better in myself. Only allowed dispersible pain meds now as cannula has been removed but they taste horrid!!!

I feel as though I have done too many sit ups, pain is quite bad and can't get comfortable. Still on pain meds and asking for them regularly. They said I might be able to go home tomorrow, just not sure I'm ready to go home? Did anyone else go home in pain and is this pain normal? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Bx

Is this pain normal? Like you I feel as though I have done to many sit ups. Keep asking for pain meds but its not going away :-( they said earlier that I might be able to go home tomorrow, but not sure if I'm ready yet due to the pain. Did others go home with pain? Any help would be greatly appreciated as getting a bit scared that something is wrong. Thank Bx

Had my op at about 12.30 yesterday afternoon. It went fine with no complications. Had a rough night been sick due to the pain meds but that seems to be coming under control. Allowed water and had one cup of tea so far. The pain feels like I have done too many sit ups! Still got drips and drain in but hopefully they will be coming out later.
