My surgery date was 4/29/13. HW 297 CW 253 GW160. I'm doing 80 g of protein a day and on soft foods. Still feeling my way as far as what I can eat. I'm walking everyday. -

My doc said as soon a I feel up to it after two weeks. -
I pureed any type of egg or chicken salad. Purred salsa with cottage cheese too.yummy!

My iv blew about six hours after sugery. They couldn't get a vein...and after 41/2 hours without pain meds, finally a pediatrics ward nurse got it. I'm a hard stick! Longest four hours of my life! -
Feel better! Dehydration is nothing to fool with!

I'm a life long insomniac...I have a sleep disorder. Now my meds don't seem to work at all! Averaging 2-3 hours night....I have a call into my doc to see if maybe they're. Not absorbing right.and lack of sleep slows weight loss! -
Yeah my nut came in and took over in the hospital, she was great. I think she personally inspected my meals after that first snafu

I posted this in another thread but I've heard that peanut butter mixed with chocolate protein powder tastes like reddest...not a chocolate fan but my support group raves about this. Mix until like playdoh. Had to be higher in fat but as a once in awhile treat...? -
I drove...just no pain meds.1 week post op.

They gave me full sugar fruit juice in the hospital! My doctor threw a fit! Luckily I didn't drink it or I think I would have dumped.

I consult my doc constantly....they make the big bucks, right? I have a great team and they've been very supportive.They told me that if I could never eat anything, it may be a stricture, but since I can eat some of the time it's probably food choices or eating too fast. I just backed off to protein and soups for a couple days and then I'll try to introduce foods again slowly. But everyone should really consult their own doc.
