Anyone 5'10-6' tall?
deaddemmama replied to heather200202's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5'10". My Dr. thinks 175 is a good weight. I'm shooting for 160 so if I gain some back it will even out. I was 138 at my thinnest and stayed between 150-165 for about 15 years. 138 was ridiculous but at 160 I was a size eight and felt great. Right now I can't even imagine being in onederland! I think a lot depends on body type, too. I have broad shoulders and hips and really am "big boned " so even at 140 I was a size six. I'll be happy if I stay in the 175 range and my cholesterol and triglycerides come down. -
Don't worry about day to day weight. I got really obsessive with the scale for the first two weeks. My Dr. told me to weigh no more than twice a week since everyone fluctuates daily. Best advice I ever got. I'm much happier now that I relaxed a little.

Don't feel like eating!
deaddemmama replied to jlh76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat at the same time everyday whether I want to or not...usually not:). I just want to get in the habit of three meals a day plus snack. It's hard some days. -
going out of town
deaddemmama replied to Leslie1976's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went out of town a couple of weeks ago and brought mio drink flavoring. It helped if I wanted something other than water at a restaurant. What stage are you in? It might help to find a store at your destination that has protein drinks...I was only gone a couple of days and I really fell down on my protein for a couple days! -

Great news everyone! -
I think it's hilarious when men think women shouldn't fart...do they think we make it. To age 50 and then explode?

Revised from VGB (1997) to RNY (2013)
deaddemmama replied to VGB2RNY's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have chronic pain issues so swimming and water aerobics help me a lot. I did this regularly prior to surgery and was happy to get back into it after my incision closed. I also keep weights next to me when I'm watching Tv and I do arm excercises during commercials. It's a start:) -

They're made from a fibrous indigestible yam...they have no carbs and no calories. Really. Google them...I'm reserving judgement. Reviews range from raves to god-awful. They're also pretty expensive. $2.50 for about 7 oz. We'll see! -

deaddemmama replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just bought some low fat whole grain flat bread rounds at coercion.had 1/4 of one with some ground sirloin. I've been eating quinoa cause it has protein and is a complex carb. I'm frankly scared to try any pasta, rice, etc for fear of dumping or not losing. Other than that carbs are coming from fruit and beans. I just ordered some miracle noodles...they get mixed reviews, so we'll see! -

I'm always shocked, too. I was very thin and fit for fifteen years and when I gained weight I just remained in total denial. No more! -

I would check with your surgeon and hospital. Procedures and policies vary so widely among surgeons and facilities! -
