    Severe arthritis

I relied on anti-inflamatories, but no more. I take tramadol. Tylenol doesn't work at all for me.

    water aerobics

Anyone else do water aerobics? I love it! I alternate aerobics with deep water running with an aquajogger and daily walking. Good toning and calorie burning with no joint pain. Happy.

    Bypass or sleeve?

I did tons of research and found out that sleeve patients lose less, but also regain less over the long run, while rny patients lose more much more rapidly, but also tend to regain more....the weight loss for rny is still greater. The deciding factor for me was the lack of long-term data on the sleeve...only about 8 years. I wasn't comfortable with that. I also liked the added bonus of the malabsorption with rny. While this means we need to be vigilant about nutrient intake, it also means we simply absorb fewer calories. This makes me be mindful of every bite I put in my mouth. Dumping can also be an "attractive" deterrent for some, although since many don't dump, it can't be relied upon. Whatever you decide, best of luck!
