    Body image

I felt like this when I went shopping the other day in the regular section...like people were asking themselves, " Why is SHE shopping in this section?" Then I realized I was in my head...people don't care, I'm not that important. I think it takes awhile for our heads to match our new bodies. Freaky stuff.
  2. Scroll through the recipe section..I posted some recipes there for stuff like crockpot carnitas, chicken quinoa salad, crockpot chicken and mushrooms, Mediterranean chicken, baked tilapia, etc. all good stuff and loaded with Protein and nutrients.

    1 week post op

I would advance your diet as your doctor recommends...no cheating. You can really cause harm and/or get sick by advancing too soon.
  4. Good for you! Hope you feel better soon.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

Went shopping yesterday and was totally overwhelmed by the selection in normal sizes...I'm used to the tiny, ugly selection in the plus department. Wasn't too lucky with pants..most are way too short, and I'm stuck between a 14 and 16, but I could pick any m/ L tops off the rack! I can get used to being overwhelmed!

    Wardrobe Issues!

We have designer consignment shops in our area...I've been hitting those...I buy a lot of work out clothes for casual wear as they fit longer. I have a problem because I have a 36" inseam and most pants are wat too short. I've been making do with some classic black, tan, grey slacks and a few skirts. I mix with a lot of tops and scarves, etc. I am stuck between a 14 and a 16 depending on the brand and cut of the slacks. Combine that with the length problem and arrrgghh!

Lidoderm patches by prescription also work well.

    Getting sick at work?

If you follow protocol about portions, type of food, chewing, etc, and barring complications, you shouldn't get sick too often. Be sure to chew, chew, chew, and don't eat anything you shouldn't. Watch portions and stop way before you're "full". Stick to familiar, safe foods at work and don't go back too soon. Good luck...you got this!

    April 2013 Post-Op Group

I am so frustrated..went in the hospital at 207 last week and came out at 213...chalked it up to fluids. I've barely eaten anything in ten days, and I'm stuck at 211. Of course I haven't been doing much exercise..just got back to walking two days ago, but I've been stuck around this 90 lb weight loss since mid August. I really wanted to hit 100 lbs before my check up at the end of Oct. But now my check up has been moved to the first...my surgeon wants to check my ulcer and roll my check up into one appt. I get my protein in everyday...just wish I was down more...

    Diet soda....

My nut says she's had patients drink totally flat soda, but carbonation is still a big no no. My surgeon concurs.

    Impacted

Have you tried magnesium citrate...one bottle, followed by a saline enema....held in as long as you can..repeat with one more bottle only if you've gotten results, followed by another enema...or you can try a miralax bowel gatorade prep....miralax in g2... If you've tried alot of this and it just causes pain, go to the er..they'll disimpact you..

Well, they found an ulcer, but every time they go in it looks like it's done bleeding....meanwhile the bowel prep looked like a murder scene, but the the colonoscopy showed no bleeding...really?... It still could all be the ulcer....maybe time for a secind opinion.. .

Can't find the new source of bleeding yet, but omg...it's getting old. Feeling very frustrated physically and mentally. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

Not as thick, but very similar.

    Smoking

We can do this! If we can change our eating habits, we can quit smoking. Not worth an ulcer....trying to do a bowel prep right now before a colonoscopy.....bleeding very badly...nothing is worth this! I refuse to listen to the addiction that tells me, " one more is ok,". That's how I got fat! It never stops at one more, and the sooner I come out of denial and believe this, the sooner I can get well.

Holy cow! I forgot how miserable a bowel prep is. It's going to be a long night.
