    Officially Post-Op !

Welcome to the loser's bench....i was in pain pretty constantly at first, forced myself to walk. Slept in a recliner, and it helped. Just be careful with pain meds that have Tylenol....too much Tylenol can cause liver damage.

No pain meds? Brutal..I hope you get out quickly, and feel better...I really hope this surgery is successful and your chronic pain is a thing of the past.

    Feeling Defeated And Depressed

My weight loss slowed after my first 80 lbs....it still stalls, and then I'll lose 6/7 lbs in a week, usually if I eat no carbs and up my protein. I also try to remember that weight loss can go on for 18 months, and it's natural to slow down. I also consult with my nut/ program specialist if I am really concerned ...I've called a couple times, and they advised me to eat more protein.

    Why We Are Here

Today, for the first time, I can see you all and post replies. I think people will come back now that the app works better.

When people ask "How did you lose weight?"

I didn't tell anyone except my immediate family...when people ask, I tell them I made lifestyle changes. My mother in law worked for weight watcher for twenty years...she's very anti rny. But when she stopped working for WW, she gained about 75 lbs... She still throws stones.
  11. Yeah, I stay in the rny threads...less rancorous, for sure
  12. Carbs still hurt my pouch...haven't tried anything with sugar, but noodles and tortillas really hurt my pouch.

Glad I found the thread and can now catch up with everyone....had surgery last Monday to open a blocked subclavian graft...all went well, but gained 3 lbs that has not come off yet. I really need to get to the store, but can't yet, so I'm not eating well... There's not a lot to eat here....sick of yogurt and cheese sticks...ah well I can imagine how good a salad will taste! Hope you're all doing great...missed you!

Where is this group in the main forum? I can only find it under recent posts, and then it wont go to recent pages. Don't even know if I will see replies. Can someone email me? deaddemmama@gmail.com
  19. No, it won't let report errors...tells me I don't have permission, nor do I want to login with Facebook. April 2013 surgery people, email me at deaddemmama@ gmail.com!

    Posting And Responding?

I'm looking for April Surgeries. It was posted in rny talk forum under rny post op. Also, as you're undoubtedly aware, there's no way to go to the last page in a thread. This is unwieldy. I can't use the current button, as this also proves unwieldy; too many topics that do not pertain to me. Is there any way to bring back the topics too which we had subscribed? Also, the app no longer works on my Kindle. Thank you for your attention.

    Excessive drinking

Cross addiction is a real danger for rny folks, and it sounds like it's really bothering you. I applaud your honesty. Maybe you should seek counseling, hon. Drinking will definitely contribute to depression, which leads to more drinking, etc. are you post op? Besides possible alcoholism, drinking can really be hard on your pouch, and it's full of empty calories. Message me if yiu wish, I'd love to talk.
  24. My husband's family eat constantly. They don't know about my surgery, so it's a double whammy, and they comment about what and how much everyone eats. We are getting together with them the day before Thanksgiving this year...I can't be around an all day eating fest. They are doing Thanksgiving brunch, and then having dinner at six, with snacks all day in between. I'm six months out, I just can't do it this year.
