Hard knot on left side where incision is?
aba9903 replied to cherieblake's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had one on the right side. It was pretty painful, but nothing to worry about. They said it was a hematoma under my incision. -
Wanna hear something weird and a bit ironic? My doc finally called yesterday with the results of my kidney stone analysis during my EGD. He said I have uric acid kidney stones and to not eat a lot of shellfish or animal protein. Funny thing is, I haven't had any! When I got that stone I wasn't even drinking my protein anymore cause I was so sick. Gonna call my Bari doc today and see if I need to switch to soy protein.

Ooh! What did you put on them? -
Probiotics are supposed to be good for the diarrhea. Also you have to think, is it diarrhea, like stomach cramps and rushing to the bathroom? Or is it just loose stools? The less solid food you eat, the less solid your #2.....obviously this doesn't apply to those of you months and months out.

And the nightmare continues…
aba9903 replied to missmachine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What a nightmare. I will say some prayers for you. I've had some minor complications but nothing this bad. Good for you for standing up for yourself. Too many people trust that their docs are always 100% right! I hope things change soon for you, it will take a while for you to not regret any of this! We are all here for you! -
I don't crave sweets now either! It's a blessing because my sweet tooth was my biggest downfall!! ----now I just crave everything else :/

First time posting
aba9903 replied to wheatone1968's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had issues too. Tuesday I have my 2nd dilation for a stricture. I've had 2 large kidney stones. Hospitalized once for malnutrition and a couple ER visits for dehydration and pain (I had a hematoma under one of my incisions). My new Bariatric doc has threatened me with a PICC line and TPN. I have regrets but I try to remind myself that it's still early for me. (I'm a June post-op) I'll be thinking of you. MSG if you ever need to talk -

My parents like to make caprese tomatoes. It's a big Slice of tomato with a slice of buffalo mozzarella on top. Then drizzled with balsamic and a little olive oil and fresh basil. I ate a Slice of the cheese with a little balsamic on top. It was amazing. Wish I could eat the tomato too! -
5 days post-op from band to rny
aba9903 replied to Kcarr1120's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Honestly, meats are pretty dense, be very careful, i still can't tolerate many meats and I'm 12 weeks out. When you do try them tho, either purée with some kind of broth or FF mayo. Refried beans and cottage cheese were my buddies at that stage. And don't cheat, I have and it's never ever worth it.....I always regret it instantly (usually cause it makes me sick) -

Tonight I had a couple slices of avocado mashed up, with just a bit of salt. It was great and my pouch liked it! -
Any other Military Wives out there? Tricare South?
aba9903 replied to LacedUp's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Army wife here. Dealt with Tricare South with surgery. Only out of pocket costs were $25 for my nutritionist visit and then a little over $200 for my pre/post op kit (protein and vitamins). Auth was submitted on a Friday, I was approved by Thursday. This was all done by a civilian doc. My total bill was $61,000 which I paid none of. Yes, strangely this was one thing I never had an issue with when it came to Tricare! -

I always get the munchies at night, especially if I take my sleep meds. Try to drink some water and just go to bed if you have to. The munchies are a b****!
