Dreamsfield pasta
Jeepchick42 replied to tlynn4love's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just looked it up and the nutritional facts are making me a little nervous. 41 grams of carbs minus 5 grams of fiber. That equals 39 net carbs. They say there are 31grams of "protected" carbs. What exactly are "protected" carbs. I would personally stay away. : (. I miss pasta. -

It actually isn't to bad. I got the 1% evaporated and used a half a can. Funny enough, the fat free has 2 grams more sugar then the 1%. And the 1% has only a half a gram of fat. A serving of chowder only has like 3.5 grams of fat and 8 grams of sugar and the sugar is from the milk. The chowder came out really rich. Yum -

The weber original was the lowest sugar sauce I found (6grams). I sear the tenderloin then put it in the crockpot with 3/4 cup of the sauce and about 2 cups of water. When it falls apart I pull out the pork and reduce the sauce back down the 3/4 cup. Then I measure out only a half cup from that. It's plenty sauce an it keeps the sugar down. -

I get like that on the weekends when I don't have work to distract me. I could go all day at work and not even think about food. -

Just made chowder and it came out amaze-balls. 208 calories, 3.8 grams fat, 21 carbs (dang potatoes), 8 sugars, and 18 grams protein. Perfect for this yucky day. -

By the way I have a serious sunglasses addiction. I probably have 20 pairs of high end sunglasses. It's sick. I wonder if the have a support group for that. Lol. -

Its such a nasty day out today (rain/thunderstorms) I was thinking about making fish chowder. Mmmmmm liquid comfort. The way I make it I usually use 1% milk so its not too thick. My question is has anyone tried to make chowder of any sort using evaporated skim milk? For some reason I have it stuck in my mind that evaporated milk is better then regular. Am I correct or not? -
Does anyone know about bill collection?
Jeepchick42 replied to TinyMamiOf3kids's topic in Rants & Raves
Yes it affects your credit score. It's bill consolidation and you'll end up paying more then you owe. I get them too and I only have one credit card and no other debt. Junk mail. Throw it away. -

How about some NSVs!?!?
Jeepchick42 replied to shyanne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ooo I had my helix done. And an industrial, double conch, single conch, lobes, tongue, and eyebrow. Eyebrow came out when I was probably 21. The rest I actually took out for surgery and never put them back in. I'm also looking into having a few tattoos removed (they're really not well done at all). I want to completely transform myself from my previous self. Congrats on your piercing tho!! -
Just caved and had a few bites of ice cream. It was good. But now I'm so full I can't drink my protein shake. I've also had an enormous craving for fried food over the past couple days and I forgot to take all my vitamins today. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely grateful for this surgery and I'm amazed everyday at my results, but I just want to feel normal again. I don't want food taking up a huge amount of my day anymore. I want to be able to go out to a restaurant and not have to pick through the entire menu for something I can eat and possibly not be able to eat anything. I know this is the path I chose and I knew 100% what I was getting into but when will this not be such a big deal anymore. This is a diet roller coaster and I can't get off. And I know this is how I ate myself up to 270lbs. Previous diets I would get to this point and abandon my diet because I want to be feel normal again and not have to constantly scrutinize everything that goes into my mouth. I guess I'm just frustrated. Anyone else feeling this way? My rant for today. Thanks for listening.

You should talk to DL. He is a wealth of knowledge on gastric bypass. -
I was never really an emotional eater. I knew that I ate too much tho and knew that I made the wrong decisions with food choices. I typically ate very different when I was around other people as supposed to when I was by myself. When I was alone I'd pile a huge dinner plate full of food but if I was over at someone's house having dinner I would only take a small portion. And the funny thing was is that after that small portion I felt full. I felt like I was going to bust when I would eat alone. This has taught me to slow down and enjoy my food and that its not a contest of how much I can fit in my stomach at one time. However I do see myself getting back into old habits. Example I had meatballs last night and was full after 3 1/2 but I pushed myself to eat the other half of the meatball because I didn't want to waste. That's stinkin' thinkin'. I've also been taking larger bites and eating way too fast. Oh and my nemesis of not drinking and eating at the same time. I guess I'm a work in progress.
