My doc say you can only take Tylenol. No aspirin aleve Advil. But I have had luck with peppermint oil. Put a dab on each of your temples and one behind your neck. Works really good.

I just finished my two mile walk!!!! I'm sweating buckets. More then I used to, even before surgery. I'm so out of shape. But I'm going to do my weights tonight. I learned my lesson that I probably need to eat breakfast or at least drink some water beforehand. Ugh!!!

I love to swim but I've never tried water aerobics. I wish I had a pool close by. I suppose I could and swim in the ocean.

Ok so I'm promising myself to start a regular exercise routine tomorrow. I've been totally slacking on it and I know I'll lose more if I do. So tomorrow when I wake up I'm going to check this thread and remember that I promised myself to do this. 2 miles or more on the treadmill everyday. No excuses. Plus weights every other day. The only person I'll be letting down if I don't do it is myself. My motivation post ????

My doc said in soft food stage I can have thin sliced deli meats. Can you have those? Or chicken salad? I'm making pizza tonight and the crust is made out of cheese.

Ugh my back is killing me today. I've been busy making my cousin's soon to be wife's "bow" for her gift but so far its taken me two days. But just from sitting on my couch my back is a mess. I took some nasty Tylenol liquid but it did nothing. I think I'll walk a couple miles tonight and see if that helps. I'll attach a picture of the bow when I'm done. It beautiful.

I'm 7 weeks out tomorrow and the pizza I'm making tonight has a cream cheese crust. It's soft enough. I would love a real piece of pizza but I can deal with this until I can. -

I'm making this tonight but I'm cutting the crust recipe in half and adding ricotta to the top. I think all pizza should have ricotta on it. So good. -

Having a scrambled egg but its not doing it for me. I'm getting really sick of the things I'm eating. I only have another week and half until normal food but this last week is a killer. I might dump the egg and have a yogurt instead. -
Ugh I need some exercise motivation. I just haven't been doing anything lately. It's funny, before surgery I was walking 3 miles a day, 6 days a week, on my treadmill. Now I just stare at it from the couch. The two weeks off while I recovered just zapped my motivation. I'm still losing weight but I think if I was exercising I'd lose more.

I've never been a big jerky lover. I found the tender bites at Walmart and have them a whirl. They aren't bad however I couldn't eat alot of them. 2-3 pieces and I'm done. And the sodium is crazy. I'd rather have a different kind of protein but in a pinch they're okay.

I don't suggest it. Just remember its all in your head.

Had a really good cheeseburger tonight. Can't wait until I can have onions and veggies on it. August 1 can't come quick enough. -

I'm really trying to follow the no drinking rule but its sooo hard. Sometimes I forget but when I do remember it almost seems worse waiting for the clock. Any tips? -
I know this is kinda gross but it gave me an idea for a shake. I brushed my teeth this morning in the middle of drinking a chocolate protein shake. Afterwards it tasted just like mint choco chip and was actually really good. I think I'm going to pick up some mint extract to add to them. I'm getting bored with chocolate and I'm not a big fan of the other flavors.

The YMCA's around my town have partnered with my surgeons office to have plenty of classes and trainers that specialize in wls. It's a real help for alot of people. However personally I don't feel very comfortable at a gym yet. I have a treadmill at home and weights that I use everyday. Once I lose more of my weight I do plan on getting a membership to the Y so I can take advantage of these programs.

I don't know how you feel about bottled sauces but Walden farms makes a sugar free one. I have not tasted it but I know you can get it at Walmart. Also there are tons of recipes online for sugar free BBQ sauce.

1oz of leftover pork tenderloin that promptly got stuck. My fault for eating to quick. Had a shake afterwards. Didnt feel like eating anymore of the pork. It turned me off. -
I think in getting better with my willpower. I have an enormous sweet tooth I literally could have lived off of birthday cake before surgery. But today I was walking around the store and saw the Voortmans sugar free cookies. A whole rack of them. They were calling to me. I checked out the nutritional info and picked up the oatmeal cookies. I took two steps away from the rack and turned around and put them right back. I knew if I got them it would only lead to bad things. Same thing happen when I found hummus chips. They aren't as bad as the cookies and they actually have some protein but I CANNOT have them. I am an addict but my willpower is stronger.

Jeez. What are you eating cause I'm 6 weeks out and barely get in my minimum of 60. I am trying to only eat 3 times a day cause that's what my doc said to do.
-
Me too. I don't know if I'll make it the whole year tho. I told myself at least 6 months which will be right around Xmas.
-
This is true. My doc did a nicotine test the day of my surgery.

Smoking can cause ulcers and dvt. I was at the drs office the other day and the nurse was talking about a patient who smokes. Shes had an ulcer since shes had surgery and can barely eat or drink. It was so severe that she needed to be checked into the hospital. And now she has to take medication everyday because of it. This surgery is supposed to get you off your meds not add more. Also everyone I've known who has had surgery who has smoked has had a blood clot. Why would you want to do something so drastic to make yourself healthy but continue to do something that is so unhealthy for you. It makes no sense. I quit two years ago and it was the best decision I ever made including my decision to have surgery.
