    June Post Ops!

My surgeon says that you can't stretch your stomach by drinking which to me makes sense. I had an 11 oz Protein shake this morning and it took me about a half hour to drink it.

    Friday Weigh-In!

Last week 213 This week 208 I wish every week was like this!!

    I did a 5k!

I think I'm going to try the couch to 5k app again. I did it pre surgery but couldn't get past week 3. And when it said to run, I jogged. Lol. 60lbs lighter I think I might actually be able to run. I really want to learn to run. I've always want to run a marathon. I think it would be an amazing accomplishment.

    June Post Ops!

I'm in the same situation. Pre op I was in an 18 but I tried on a 16 the other day and they fit but they were TIGHT!! I'm down 38lbs. I have noticed that it depends on the brand. I have a couple of pants that I bought at target and they are a size 18 but I bought a pair of 16 at Macy's. And the size 18 Levi's I have are like 6 inches too big. Go figure. Everything will even out.

    June Post Ops!

I had my surgery 6/5 and I started eating raw veggies last week. My nut said after 8 weeks I could start eating almost everything. Dried fruit, nuts, seeds, and stuff like that are still out if the question.

    INSOMNIA!

Melatonin gives me horrible nightmares. And I agree with you with the ambien. I think I might take just one out of a two pack tonight and see how it goes.

    INSOMNIA!

Does anyone take sleeping pills? Not prescription but just an over the counter. My sleep time is all screwed up and I'm starting a new job on Monday and need to be up at 6am. I haven't been going to bed until 2am. I'm two months out.
  8. It's pretty much starting over. liquids for a few days then soft foods and so on. http://www.5daypouchtest.com/plan/theplan.html It's supposed to reset your pouch.
  9. Try the 5 day pouch test. A girl in my support group tonight said that she did it a few weeks ago and lost 7 lbs in the week.

    What ya eating tonight?

Isn't it awful? I went out for breakfast the other day and ordered eggs and a fruit cup. The eggs were fine but the fruit cup was in a sugar syrup. Way to make a healthy thing awful. Especially when it's one of the only healthy things on the menu.

I haven't dumped either yet. I think I have a VERY healthy fear of it. I only have about 10-20 grams of sugar a day and usually its closer to the 10. My nut said that I need to stay below 15grams per meal but I'm very scared to dump so I'm taking it to the extreme.

what to bring on surgery day

I brought a couple of changes of clothes (I'm indecisive), toothbrush, toothpaste, Chapstick, a book, iPad, iPhone, charger, deodorant, tampons (I got my "friend" when I was in surgery. Thanks uterus, thanks alot.) and a couple of hair elastics. I was only there overnight (I obviously have issues with over packing. Lol). I used my toothbrush/toothpaste/deodorant, changed my clothes once, Chapstick was my best friend, used my phone and charger. The rest didn't even leave my bag.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I bought a dress a while back to wear to my cousins wedding. I had to take it to a seamstress to get it altered a little. I put it on so they could pin it and they had to take in 3 inches.... On each side. ????

    June Post Ops!

Is anyone else having trouble getting veggies in? I know the order is protein veggies carbs but I feel like I should be eating more veggies for some reason. Some days the only thing I have with vegetables is tomato sauce.

    What ya eating tonight?

This sounds yummy. I've never had luck grilling scallops. I can sear them to perfection, but no grilling. They always over cook.

I certainly not sweating like I used too which is very nice. Lol. Summer isn't so oppressive. But being really cold can be a sign of iron deficiency. Have you had your blood checked?

    June Post Ops!

For some reason my crazy mother thinks that this surgery has made me allergic to gluten. She keeps buying me things that are gluten free and I keep telling her its not the gluten, its the carbs. She was shocked when I told her I couldn't have bread, pasta or rice. Hopefully she'll figure it out soon but I'm kinda finding it funny for the moment. Lol.

    June Post Ops!

So I broke down and went shopping yesterday. I had to get some shirts for my new job. I bought 8 shirts and 2 dresses but I bought them in 2 different sizes. Some I can wear now, some I'll wear later. Also the company provides coats, fleeces, and raincoats. I ordered them all in a smaller size because I figure by the time I need a coat I'll hopefully be able to wear a large.

    What ya eating tonight?

Cheeseburger no bun. Used really good grass fed beef. I love buying good ingredients now. It still costs less then before surgery.

    What ya eating tonight?

I've had steak and it sits great with me. My nut doesn't recommend it until I'm 3-4 months out (I'm only 2). Ground hamburger sits heavy but not steak. I think I pay more attention to chewing when I eat it cause I know if it got stuck it would be hell.

    Anyone eat bread or tortillas?

I wish I didn't like surgery. Pre op I would bake 2 loaves of sourdough a week and eat them both with a stick of butter. Yum!!

    Disneyland eats

I too heart Disney. I'm 31 and have probably been to Disney world around 40 times. And when you don't live anywhere near it, that's a lot. Lol. I have not been since I've had surgery but I do plan on going next year. Disney is incredibly accommodating. If you have a special diet they will work with you. Ordering a hamburger with no bun is not an issue. And they also have side veggies or salad options. Obviously you would need to be at a stage where you can eat those things. At two months I feel I could walk around the park for the day with a few breaks and be fine. That said be careful with water and dehydration. The Florida and Southern California sun are killers. You might want to wait for a cooler day to go. Enjoy and say hi to Mickey for me!!! He'll know who I am, we go way back. Lol.

    PEANUT BUTTER? ?

Try better n' peanut butter. Has the same consistency as a natural peanut butter. A little higher in the stats then pb2 but no where near regular peanut butter. It also has a slight after taste but its really not bad. Found it at target.
