Just went through the whole thread and gathered everyone's dates. I had to start skimming through it because it was taking too long so I apologize if anyone's date is wrong or has changed and if I left anyone out, but please feel free to correct it. At least we have a list to look at and see where everyone stands. I had my Endoscopy Friday and that went well. According to the GI surgeon my stomach is "amazing". This was my first time being put asleep and power the nurse I'll "either be cranky or really happy after". Unfortunately I was extremely cranky but all the nurses thought I was hilarious (unfortunately they don't let you "try" to put your own IV in ) so they are all excited to come visit me during my hospital stay. Got my final medical clearance from my PCP today. Last nutritionist appointment tomorrow then a final surgeon visit 12/6. No pre-op diets here just nothing heavy the day before! :-) I have exactly 12 days to get a few of my favorite things in. :-)

My surgery is December 11th. Endoscopy Friday and one more nutrition visit for all my post op instructions (as if it hadn't been instilled in me 1000 other times)! :-) Super nervous but I had an hour long interview over the phone with one of the nurses that will be at my beacon call in the hospital and she basically said to just free myself of worry and let it be. Eekk 20 days, fellow 12/11's!

Yayy we have the same day. I did 90% of my pre op tests today. Just have an Endoscopy left and I'm good to go! :-)

Someone should make a big list of everyone for December so we know who goes when. :-)

Hello all! I've been on this site from time to time during my six month diet. I finished all that and finally got a surgery date of December 11th and am cramming all my pre-op stuff in within the next couple of weeks. That's stressful. Other than that, I'm stoked. Scared and anxious but excited. Can't wait to use this forum a lot more to get to know you guys and go through this process together. My surgeon doesn't have any pre surgery diets fortunately so I plan to eat at Thanksgiving like there is no tomorrow and sit around at Christmas hating everyone stuffing their faces, lol. I ordered all my vitamins last night along with some protein. My wallet is crying! Thanks for listening and I look forward to getting to know you guys!

I just had my psychological evaluation today. He asked me only like 6 or so questions that consisted of who my support system is, why I want the surgery, why I thought a psychological evaluation was necessary before this surgery (seems to be a great question to ask in my opinion), current health problems and any mental illness history or genetics. I then took the 567 question MMPI test (would love to know the legit reason for some of the odd questions) and the two behavioral tests dealing with anxiety and depression. It was a two hour visit but assuming he clears me, I won't need to go back. I don't have any history of depression not am I on any medications for my mental health so if that's the case for you it should be fairly pain free.

I did that! I got two JCP coupons and although I'm a while away from surgery I got three XL shirts and two pairs of jeans (12 & 14) all for $3 after my coupons. I'm going to do that every time so I have a bunch of clothes in different sizes. Best way to save money and avoid thrift shops. Nothing against thrift shops at all but when I'm down so many pounds I want cute new clothes!

I feel the same way as you. I'm 23 and want to start a family soon with my fiancée but my unhealthy weight is preventing that. It took a lot for me to get the nerve and I had my surgeons number in my wallet for a month telling myself "Ill call tomorrow". I went shopping with my sister and mom right before Easter and was so depressed when my 28 year old sister was buying size medium tops and no stores had my size. I had a mental breakdown, told them my plans and they instantly became supportive. I called then and there but the office was closed. Vowed to call back but didn't. Finally about a week later I said "screw this", picked up the phone and made an appointment. I'm currently only in my first month of 6 month supervised diet but this forum has been nothing but support. I feel I have taken good steps to a NEW me! Welcome and I hope you decide what is right for you and if it is WLS, you've come to the right place! Best of luck!
