    Girl with a pretty face.

I think every bigger person has dealt with this in some form or another. It is sad that people speak before they think, but such is life. What gets me the most is the same people come back when the weight it gone and are "blown away" but how great you look. That is what burns me the most.

    Colorado Area?

Hey everyone! Man it's been a crazy whirlwind of life happening, just like it always does. I had to step away from the process for bypass due to a cancer scare. Thank the Lord we got it all taken care of. Now I'm ready to jump back in with both feet. In fact got the all clear from my PCP just less then a week ago... How is the new year going for everyone?

    Colorado Area?

Hey all!! Colorado Springs here, no date yet but hoping and praying for Sept ish lol.
  4. I don't know how to you did it but you totally tapped into my feelings and thoughts exactly. We are in the same boat, maybe thousands of miles apart but in the same boat none the less. Hang in there!!!
  5. First off I want to say this thread has been so uplifting to me. To see that others are hoping and wishing for the same things as I am is amazing. I have felt so alone for so long all I could do was let the tears flow while reading this. I am currenting working the process for surgery, I am praying for a surgery date in early Sept. Here is my top 10 things. 1. To be able to stand and do normal everyday things, like go to the grocery store with no back pain. 2. To be able to ride any ride I'd like to at the amusement park. 3. To go to a Water park, I've never been because of my weight. 4. To finally have children, I've waited because I wanted to be healthy enough to keep up with them. 5. To travel and not to worry about swelling legs, ankles or feet. 6. To be able to get off BP meds once and for all! 7. To take so many photos that friends and family get sick of seeing me all the time. 8. To hike...to hike a 14er 9. To learn how to ski. 10. To live and not hide from life any longer.
  6. Ok, so I have talked with my new insurance provider, and I think I know what I need to do. I have my first appt next week with my new PCP and I am waiting to hear back from surgeons office to schedule my first appt with him. Now I am starting to think about what it's going to be like after surgery. I would just like to know a little more. Do you have a catheter when you come out of surgery? If so how long does it stay in? I am very nervous about staying in the hospital after surgery as I have never had to be admitted to the hospital. Is there anything you wish you would have known? What is it like? Thank you so much!!! I look forward to hearing from you all soon!!

    Things I will not miss...

Hey guys, adding to my list... I will not miss not having a lap... I will not miss having to have help to put on a bra and socks, although sometimes it's nice I still won't miss it! And I am so there with you, I want to see my "lady parts!!!" LOL I totally love this website!!!

    Kaiser?

Hey guys, anyone out there have Kaiser insurance? We are in Colorado and will have Kaiser July 1st, I was just wondering if anyone had dealt with them? Thanks! -C
  11. Thank you for your input, I'm actually nervous that she wants to do it with me. I started the journey of research alone and didn't tell her anything at first. Then we started talking and the more I tell her the more she wants to do it with me. But she really wants to do it with me, like the same day, which really worries me because who will take care of me???? LOL
  12. So I am new around here, and I am new to the process as well. After many years of fighting with my weight only to watch it keep going up I am going to finally walk this path. I am an excited mess as my partner likes to say. I have been reading everything I can get my hands on and researching several hours an evening about the process and I guess I'm a little confused. I keep seeing that people have lap band and then have the bypass, is this a step in the process? Should I expect to have lap band and then bypass? If anyone could clear this up it'd be great!!! Thank you so much for your time!
  13. How did you guys get to your first appointment? I mean did you use your primary care physician to send you onto a surgeon or did you just go right to the surgeon? I will have insurance starting July 1st and both my girlfriend and I are looking to start this process together, but I'm just not sure how to get started.

    Things I will not miss...

I totally agree mylynn! I tend to have more bad days then good right now and even when they are good I have so much crap to get done that by the time it's over with it is a bad day. I won't miss side boobs, the part of my boob that won't stay put under my bra strap but also is in the wrong place to be put in the bra.
