Anyone else doing well with weight loss but scared to death you'll screw it all up
BKR replied to BrantS1976's topic in Rants & Raves
Scared? Yes. All the time. But that is good right now. I was told by someone at work yesterday "you look great, you have lost so much weight. ....again". This was just a very good reminder for me for that I have had a very, very long history of weight loss and weight gain. Usually in the past this was the moment I would feel defeated and give up. I totally recognize this behavior now and am much stronger to just let it go. We can ALL do this! Keep up the great work. -
How real is the worry for a pulmonary embolism?!?
BKR replied to Kari Anhorn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had surgery May 2013. Had my PE June 4th...5 days after surgery. Feel very lucky to be alive. It is a risk we all know prior to surgery and is a very personal decision. I was severely depressed before surgery...not really living any sort of healthy life. My highest weight was 316 lbs. I am now 180 lbs. 10 months later. I am finally living life every day. Thankful to be truly alive and appreciating every moment, taking nothing for granted! -
I hit onederland today. So happy I actually cried. I am so thankful for the chance to change my life for the better. What a great day!

I have had mine on all day. Wind chills drop to below 30 tomorrow. OMG it's cold!!

Wow. I went shopping black Friday and bought myself a pair of those boots that go to the knees and a pair of tights. My husband loved them. Now all I need is to get up enough confidence to wear them out of the house...lol. It's so weird to go shopping now when I don't have to wear everything that is a 3-4xl. But it was fun!
-
Yes. Freezing too! My friend told me about "cuddle duds". They are like real soft long underwear. I got mine at Sams club. I wear them under all my clothes all the time now.
-
My head can't catch up either. My husband offered me a shirt the other night because I was cold. I said "funny""you know I can't wear your size yet" he then said what is wrong with you...there is no way that won't fit. I tried it on just to prove it wouldn't...but it did. How weird. People say great job but I just can't see it. I don't think I am being negative I just can't figure this out yet.

Congrats to all of you. I was a smoker for 17 years. Have been a non smoker for 9 months and 24 days. The blue e-cig was very helpful pre-op. My husband still smokes (trying to quite). So will power is needed! The urges do decrease and it does get better!!

Did your Menstral Change after Surgery?
BKR replied to kparadisek's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If considering depo...please research! I had blood clot to lung following surgery..docs strongly in agreement it is directly related to depo use. Would never have thought that could happen. Can never take it again!! Just be careful -
What do you do for headaches?
BKR replied to sashalk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fiorecet is now my best friend when I get migraines. I use to never leave the house without exedrin. That was my biggest fear post surgery that I would never get to take exedrin again. The fiorecet has worked great! -
Can't figure out either how to add you all as friends Those of you not challenged in this please add me. LOL "bkr4915" Thanks!!

Thanks.I checked mfp for the last week and highest calorie day was 780.

I seem yo have stalled again. I know I need to increase my protein (only getting about 60-65 daily). I have heard some say that they increased their calories to break a stall. My nut talks only about portion sizes and protein, carbs and sugars...not so much total calories. I am curious on average how many calories some of you are getting daily?

Constipation @ 5 months after
BKR replied to Pam Peltz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Huh..I just read the box. It said 15 g sugars for 4 prunes. I don't eat them all at once. I spread them out throughout the day...but that is high -
Constipation @ 5 months after
BKR replied to Pam Peltz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had the same problem. Nutritionist just told me to put an ounce or two of All Bran Buds (found at Walmart) in my Greek yogart daily. Also to eat 3 dried prunes a day. Will see if that works?? -
Thanks. I guess I was in kind of a hurry and dealing with 3 small children....I may have just eaten too fast and made a bad decision on food! Hopefully it doesn't happen again soon. That wasn't any fun..

I was at the mall yesterday with my kids and they were all hungry. Had to stop at the food court to grab a quick bite. I found a Chinese place and ordered some Bourbon chicken ( one of the only things not breaded). Ate a few bites and got a to go box. Within 15 minutes felt sick and started throwing up white foamy stuff. I have done this a few times before with food and drinks that don't agree with me. What is the cause of that?

I am 2 months post op. I am sad to say I was craving coffee so bad yesterday and stopped to get me an iced latte at McDonalds with fat free milk and sugar free vanilla syrup. I felt so guilty for drinking caffeine (they didn't offer it in decaf). I don't smoke anymore (smoked for 17 years) don't drink pop or alcohol. Needed something to unwind from a stressful day at work. Now worried I will make that a bad habit!!

What ya eating tonight?
BKR replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Got Chinese to go. Ate 1 mushroom, one bite of chicken and 2 bites of crab meat. Thought it was a great idea. Something isn't agreeing at all! Time to exercise and lie down...yucky feeling! -
Ok...so I was reading all of this at work and busted out laughing because it is all so true! Everyone thinks I am nuts now. You all are so great and such motivation.

I found out I had sleep apnea 4 weeks before surgery. Had a meeting with the doc to discuss what type of machine I wanted. Had to go to a home medical appointment and pick up c pap machine. Had to take the cpap with me on surgery day. No big deal. They said there was a 60% chance I wont need the machine after my weight loss. I am really hoping some day i wont need it anymore!
