  1. Scared? Yes. All the time. But that is good right now. I was told by someone at work yesterday "you look great, you have lost so much weight. ....again". This was just a very good reminder for me for that I have had a very, very long history of weight loss and weight gain. Usually in the past this was the moment I would feel defeated and give up. I totally recognize this behavior now and am much stronger to just let it go. We can ALL do this! Keep up the great work.
  2. Had surgery May 2013. Had my PE June 4th...5 days after surgery. Feel very lucky to be alive. It is a risk we all know prior to surgery and is a very personal decision. I was severely depressed before surgery...not really living any sort of healthy life. My highest weight was 316 lbs. I am now 180 lbs. 10 months later. I am finally living life every day. Thankful to be truly alive and appreciating every moment, taking nothing for granted!

    Changes...

I have had mine on all day. Wind chills drop to below 30 tomorrow. OMG it's cold!!
  5. Wow. I went shopping black Friday and bought myself a pair of those boots that go to the knees and a pair of tights. My husband loved them. Now all I need is to get up enough confidence to wear them out of the house...lol. It's so weird to go shopping now when I don't have to wear everything that is a 3-4xl. But it was fun!

    Changes...

Yes. Freezing too! My friend told me about "cuddle duds". They are like real soft long underwear. I got mine at Sams club. I wear them under all my clothes all the time now.
  7. My head can't catch up either. My husband offered me a shirt the other night because I was cold. I said "funny""you know I can't wear your size yet" he then said what is wrong with you...there is no way that won't fit. I tried it on just to prove it wouldn't...but it did. How weird. People say great job but I just can't see it. I don't think I am being negative I just can't figure this out yet.

    Smoking

Congrats to all of you. I was a smoker for 17 years. Have been a non smoker for 9 months and 24 days. The blue e-cig was very helpful pre-op. My husband still smokes (trying to quite). So will power is needed! The urges do decrease and it does get better!!
  9. If considering depo...please research! I had blood clot to lung following surgery..docs strongly in agreement it is directly related to depo use. Would never have thought that could happen. Can never take it again!! Just be careful
  10. Fiorecet is now my best friend when I get migraines. I use to never leave the house without exedrin. That was my biggest fear post surgery that I would never get to take exedrin again. The fiorecet has worked great!

    MAY 2013 POST-OP GROUP

I seem yo have stalled again. I know I need to increase my protein (only getting about 60-65 daily). I have heard some say that they increased their calories to break a stall. My nut talks only about portion sizes and protein, carbs and sugars...not so much total calories. I am curious on average how many calories some of you are getting daily?
