Looking for support / feedback to get back on track!
ParaGirl replied to ReadyInCT's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Cheryl, I am sure eating out is quite a challenge. My hubby likes to eat out quite a bit too, and my two boys always want to. I know at Red Lobster, they have a good lunch chicken and veggies. Or some type of seafood and veggies. Most places offer some type of diet option, mostly chicken and a veggie. I dont know if this helps, but I am trying. I think I need to journal too, but it is so difficult for me. I will give it a concerted effort. Dana -

I too am starting over. I got a fill today. I had not been since May, and some of the fluid in my band had dissipated, and I had gained 9 pounds...ugh I have to get back on the wagon, follow the rules, and lose this weight. Next month will be my 2 yr bandiversary. I have lost a total of 33 pounds, however, that total was at 58 pounds lost, but I've gained 25 back. This is unacceptable. I have to start over. I'm in. -
Band rules you consistently 'break'?

I never drink WITH my meals, but will drink right beforehand. I was under the impression that we could eat anything in moderation. I dont eat bread, but if someone can, I think it is ok as long as you dont overdo it. -
How about we post what we eat daily? See what other lo-carbers are having. Share some good ideas to keep it fresh. I have a hard time eating in the mornings, but find I can eat a scrambled egg with a sprinkle of cheddar cheese. I do well with salads too. Steak is an iffy food for me, I do well with chicken, but love the taste of a good steak more! I would like to know what other foods folks are eating. Thanks.

I'm sure you already just love Dr. Bagnato and his office staff. They are great. Your surgery will go so fast. I dont remember ever seeing Dr. B on surgery day until I woke up a couple hours afterward! My recovery went well, I had surgery on Thursday and went back to work on Monday. I am a teacher. Good luck on your journey. -
I watch the show Cook Yourself Thin. Love it! Record it on DVR and go back and make my recipe while watching the show (well, I pause it and rewind A LOT!) I am a bit of a picky eater, so I don't use a lot of the recipes, but the ones I use, I like a lot.

Wow Sabrina, you are awesome. I wish I had thought to post here. I have gotten rid of lots of stuff, just sent off to Goodwill or The Salvation Army. Mia, Best wishes sent your way - hurry up and get knocked up already!!! Hope all are doing well. My husband and I are starting to watch our diet together...finally! He has agreed to stop bringing chocolate and other sweets home. That is a big deal for me. I know as the weather gets warmer, this board gets slower. I hope we all spend more time outdoors workingout. Later all. Dana -
Ok, I am not a bike enthusiast as everyone here is. I am a total newbie with bikes. I have a Honda bike I purchased from Toys R Us. Is that lame? I like to bike around the neighborhood (about 4 miles) and that is a workout for me. What would you all suggest for someone who is pretty green with bikes, but wants to get more involved? Thanks for any responses.

Yea, I've always wondered if a 24 hr gym would make a difference with me, but I'm sure it wouldnt! Im thinking of doing the spin classes. I have a heel spur and plantar faciitis in one foot, and had surgery for the same problems in my other foot about 4 yrs ago. Due to this, I am not able to run or really to walk for any distance. It would be good to get my cardio through spin classes and then do weight training. What kind of work out do you do? I'm just curious.
