    Fellow October bandsters - help....

I know how you feel. I have not had true hunger until today, but I sure have wanted a dang taco all flippin week!!! I have been on clear liquids for 6 days and my kids are starting to suffer! I am sooooooo cranky, and I too I wondered what the blankety blank blank blank have I done? Well, my hubby and I didn't shell out over 17 grand so I can just give up! Today, in addition to clear liquids I ate about 2 oz of pudding, I AM A REBEL I TELL YOU. It did make me feel better...I know, pitiful. When things seem hopeless, remember that soon we will get to eat mushies...yeeeha! I am already conjuring up things I will be able to eat at that stage. Masked cauliflower comes to mind...yummy and low carb! But I digress.... Just realize that this sucky part will pass, it has to! And you and I will both be so happy we did this next summer when we are wearing a bathing suit and not cringing from the thought of others seeing us. Take care and chin up.

    Mad Really Mad

I think it is totally unprofessional for them to not call you back. They certainly got paid to do the work, now they need to continue with follow up. Maybe you are dehydrated, that will cause dizziness and nausia. I hope you get to feeling better.

    We are the TENaciousTENS!

did you full on barf? or did it come up slowly? I am so not looking forward to that and hope to avoid it.
  5. Hi, I went into the hospital this morning at 6 am. I couldnt sleep last night, got maybe 3.5 hours of sleep. I never saw my surgeon, those drugs work! Like some say, I feel like I got the crap kicked out of me by a horse, but amazingly, I am feeling ok. I just had a popsicle, it was heavenly! My hubby and I just walked a little bit outside, we have a LONG drive, and walked it while he was walking the dogs. I have this thing on my wrist for pain, sends a little electric tingle out there to help, and I just took a hit of my liquid Rx for pain. I am tired, feel a little blah, but wow, I just cannot believe I am feeling this well. I do realize that I may hit a wall...I MAY, but I will be ok. I just wanted to post, let the tenacious tens know I am kickin! Take care all, I will post again. Dana

    It's getting closer!

Kimmi, I am 36, and this surgery (performed Oct. 11) was the easiest I have ever been through. I have had 2 C-sections, Gal Bladder removal, Tonsilectomy, had wisdom teeth cut out, and foot surgery. Again, this one has been the easiest to get through. It isnt a walk in the park, but it isnt horribly bad either. I will return to work tomorrow, 4 days post operative. I am a Kindergarten teacher. I know I will not be all bubbly and energetic, but I will be able to work. Just make sure to do all that your doc tells you, you will be fine. I like the advice given earlier, dont listen to the whiney posts!

    I gotta ask... (sorry)

I cant believe this...I went potty! Maybe I just had to ask, and read the reply. Who knows. I am really sorry it took you 14 days. I feel much better. I feel like I won the lottery. I know, I need to get a life!
  9. My surgery was Thursday, Oct. 11, which was 3 1/2 days ago. Please tell me when you finally went to the bathroom...and I mean number 2. I know I haven't eaten a thing, so why would I need to go? But dang. (I have had water, tea, chicken broth popsicles and other CLEAR liquids)

I want to take the Rx pain killer, but it burns when goes down and makes me cough...OUCH! I weighed, not a smart idea, but i lose a pound! Let me know how you are doing.

    TENaciousTENS "roll call" as promised!

Hi all. My date is just 4 days away and I am very nervous. I am more concerned with recovery, I am going back to work on Monday, 4 days post op. I am a kindergarten teacher, so I dont do heavy lifting or anything like that...it is just the pace of the day that is worrying me. I sure hope all goes well. I have told no one at work about the surgery. Only my hubby, mom and 2 friends know I am having the surgery!
  21. I am a kindergarten teacher. My surgery is the 11th and I will return to work on Monday the 15th. My doc said that will be just fine. He told me he had a patient go back to work the same day as surgery...that is just nuts to me, that patient must have been self-employed!

    Before pics *ugh!*

I went in Tuesday for my pre-op appointment with the Dr.s office and they took pictures. I was afraid the camera would break. My hubby will take some, I am not looking forward to that.
  23. My surgery is the 11th. I once read a magazine article about a woman who had weight loss surgery, how she cried and cried whenshe found she had to be on liquids the first several weeks after surgery. You are not abnormal. We all LOVE food, that is why we are chunky! This time will pass, it may suck, but it will pass. Have you tried any protein shakes? Like Atkins, or something like that? That may help you feel full, or at least a little satisfied. I know that I am going to have a cow after surgery, I am trying to wrap my mind around that. Please dont feel so defeated, you will get through this and it will make you a stronger person.
  24. Thanks for this post. My pre op was today and my surgery is Oct 11. It is good to get an idea of how long this will take

    Overly supportive husband?...

You deserve it. You are lucky to have such a wonderful and supportive man. My hubby is the same way, he is paying for most of my surgery. He is the best and this will benefit us both.
